Five years ago today, Neda Agha-Soltan (نِدا آقا سُلطان) was shot dead in the streets of Tehran by Basij militia. Hear her calling to free Iran in the song I kompozed dedicated to her martyrdom:

Neda's Song (Iran Be Free!) is a kompozition composed at Kompoz.com by artists around the world. It was inspired by the tragic death of Neda Agha-Soltan (نِدا آقا سُلطان‎) who was murdered by soldiers of the mullah's now in power in Tehran who to this day continue to repress the freedom-loving Iranian people. The martyrdom of Neda, a name that means "calling" in Persian, is a calling on the Iranian people to rise up and overthrow the Islamic extremist tyrants now controlling their nation. Let her memory never die and serve as a battle cry for Iranians struggling to bring liberty to their land.

Neda's Song Lyrics

On the street her body bled
As we watched her soul had fled
On the day that Neda died

At the moment of her passing
You could hear the angels cry
For the life that had gone by

Neda gave her life to bring forth liberty
She dreamed one day to see her nation free
Her call will break her people from
The chains that bound God's love
From the hearts of men
Don't you hear her calling to be free

Without warning one shot came
And struck her heart with perfect aim
To take a life that had no blame

Hear Neda's call for freedom's victory
In a land that couldn't bear
The price for truth her life has paid

Neda's life has not been lost in tragedy
Someday it will set her nation free
Neda gave her life so that
Her people find the strength to no longer fear
Enemies of love that made her dear.

Neda's life was lost for victory
She's the calling to be free
In the streets where Neda's body laid
Were sown the seeds of liberty

Neda's life was lost for victory
She's the calling to be free
In the streets where Neda's body laid
Were sown the seeds of liberty

Iran be free........
Iran be free........
Hear Neda's calling...
Iran be free........
Iran be free........
Iran be free........
Iran be free........

Neda's Call

I just put together this short video in memory of Neda Agha-Soltan (ندا آقا سلطان), the young female bystander who was shot dead yesterday in the streets of Tehran by a Basij militia sniper.

Most appropriately, her name "Neda" in Farsi means "voice" or "call". Let Neda's martyrdom be a call to the Iranian people to rise up and stand for freedom from tyranny! The video is set to the Peter Gabriel song, "Biko", which was written in memory of Stephen Biko, a martyr of the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa.

Whether the ruling clerics like it or not, as an innocent symbol of goodness sacrificed to expose evildoers, Neda represents a true "shahid"....a true martyr for God. The apocalyptically-obsessed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his minions like the hateful 'President' Mahmoud AhMADinejad don't represent God's will for this world. They represent lies, murder and tyranny and are opposed to the truth, life and freedom that comes from God's love.

Peter Gabriel's "Biko"

September '77
Port Elizabeth weather fine
It was business as usual
In police room 619
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Yihla Moja, Yihla Moja
-The man is dead

When I try to sleep at night
I can only dream in red
The outside world is black and white
With only one colour dead
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Yihla Moja, Yihla Moja
-The man is dead

You can blow out a candle
But you can't blow out a fire
Once the flames begin to catch
The wind will blow it higher
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Yihla Moja, Yihla Moja
-The man is dead

And the eyes of the world are
watching now
watching now

On a side note, for this Father's Day I spent the day with my Dad who had double bypass heart surgery on Wednesday and is now recovering. I just want to thank everyone for their prayers and thank God and the miracles of science for providing him a new lease on life.
