Jesus The Heretic

You know....Jesus was a heretic...

From Douglas Lockhart in his book, Jesus The Heretic:

Jesus is by definition a heretic. And this is not to do Jesus an injustice, for in the light of his non-conformist teachings and behaviour, he was without doubt a heretical figure in Jewish eyes. And if he returned today, he would, likewise, be a heretic in the eyes of the Christian Church.

…and I too am a heretic by classical definition. But I also claim to be a ‘natural’ heretic, and mean by this that I’ve always had a tendency to question things, whatever their origin or supposed status. I do not consider this tendency pathological. And neither do I consider my taking a stand against Christianity’s claims for Jesus a spiritual impertinence. In fact, I feel the opposite. I feel, deeply, that Jesus the Nazarene has been done a great disservice by many of those claiming to hold him in high esteem. All I see is a sad-eyed prisoner of the Christian imagination locked inside a paradigm he did not, and would not now, condone. (Lockhart, p.9)

That Jesus gave the Pharisees and Sadducees a hard time cannot be denied, and that he probably gave the Essenes just as hard a time is only just beginning to be realized. This was a man of passionate belief, a man of action, a man who believed himself fully qualified and positioned to challenge the religious leaders of his time…. This was no half-baked revolutionary with a rabble behind him: it was an individual of clear mind and strong heart who wished to inaugurate a revolution on both the religious and social levels of his culture and time. This is what is so attractive about him – one sense the passion in him boiling away as he tries to make his often doltish disciples understand his insights and long-term plans. He is special, and he knows he is special. He can see only too clearly that his religious peers have become bogged down in narrow-minded, nit-picking practices, and as a Galilean with a deep sense of space and freedom he wants to reveal what he has personally found out about God – that He does not live in a box labeled Religion. (Lockhart, p.169)

On the road to God's redemption, 'organized religion' has set up toll booths. Is this legitimate?

Every creature can have a personal relationship with their Creator. Let that be a loving relationship. That is what your Creator longs for and is the key to your salvation IMHO.

Those who are self-important, i.e., those who believe they are more important than their fellow beings, are lost in their quest to know God IMHO. The Golden Rule means to value others as yourself. It's as simple as that and doesn't require a church, or a mosque, or a degree in theology to figure it out.

What's more, God's love for us is ineffable and can't be put into words or any sort of doctrine to be realized through books. Our Creator's meaning is expressed through life. In other words, God's love is not something you read, it is something you live, hence the Authoring of this universe in which we dwell. After all, words aren't alive, you are. So "spiritual authorities", which is a contradiction in terms IMHO, need to get off their high horses, stop worshiping words and start doing God's will FOR REAL....even if this undermines their business model. Otherwise, they are intruding in the relationship between God and man for self-aggrandizement.

The tragedy of the coming Tribulation is that Christ ultimately needs to be saved from "christianity".

From Carter Heyward's Saving Jesus From Those Who Are Right:

Lifting JESUS up above us, giving him an authority over us that he didn't ask for and cannot bear, we miss the point of his life, of our lives, and of the life of God.

Don't be surprised by the human form "Christ" takes. "I Am Who I Am" for the sake of bringing the world together as one in love. (Which is utterly humiliating....by definition since love is not self-important.)

Some clinging to their naive notions of "God" and "Christianity" may find this blog offensive. Well, if my message upsets your "faith", then I dare say your faith is misplaced. The truth is that I've not returned for any sort of exclusive, holier-than-thou group of "believers" like the "700 Club" or Catholics or Mormons or whomever; I'm here to save all of mankind from Evil to the extent possible. For creatures, God's meaning is AGAPE, universal unconditional love, in whatever form that takes at any given point in the Creation. What's more, my role is not subject to your personal approval or popular mandate, even if victory (the meaning of my name) is dependent on your participation in God's mission for us. I was born into this and I will do God's bidding regardless of what I'm supposed to believe or who I'm supposed to be according to others. "The Truth" is irreconcilable with those who want to believe self-important lies. Love is not self-important and neither am I, as contra-dictory as all this may seem.

"For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled,
and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
[Luke 14:11]

The Meaning of Christ

Word of the day: "INEFFABLE"

God = יהוה‎ = True Love = Ineffable

What is the meaning of Christ, i.e., "The Word" of God in human form?

IMHO, what's relevant is God's expression of true love for man. What human form does this take?

Be thankful I'm simply a humble being seeking to persuade others of my opinions who is disinterested in thinking for others but rather wants others to think for themselves and thereby overcome the mass delusions misleading this world into Evil.

My opponent is literally a haughty dictator who is planning to brutally force his opinion of "Christianity" on the world.

I lovingly and reasonably seek to persuade the world into believing the truth. The "Old Enemy" hatefully and unreasonably seeks to force the world believe lies.

So who is the true author of history and who is engaging in fictitious "make believe"?

Maybe that is up to each individual to determine in this subjective realm.

I'm humbly offering my point-of-view, but no one believes me.

Thus, the fate that man makes is what I've foreseen.

Obviously, if I'm right, then the Evil One is now utterly prevailing in the struggle for the hearts and minds of man.

I believe my role is to overcome this evil through good; to overcome lies with truth; to overcome hate by love.

What does this mean for me?

Quite frankly, I was born into this and I don't personally want this role, but first and foremost I love God and want to please Him, so I must do what I must do no matter how humiliating this may be for me. What's more, since I understand God's revelation to me, I realize that if I don't tell the truth, then this world will not be saved from Evil. Thus, out of love for others, again, I must do what I must do regardless of the personal consequences. In this context, I am seeking to abide by my responsibilities according to the Greatest Commandment. Love, after all, is not self-important, thus I must sacrifice myself accordingly.

As I see it, I was despised, reviled, persecuted and crucified by self-important authorities misguided by worldliness for telling the blasphemous truth 2000 years ago.

I'm suffering like "treatment" this time around, but in a modern context, by being dismissed as "insane".

Thus, the unforgivable sin in this age is dismissing Christ as insane as I had warned the world about in my previous age.

Why? Because if this lie prevails, the world can not be saved since I am who I am.

Does this make sense to you?

As a mortal, sentient creature, I can't say I "like this" any more than you do. In fact, for me in particularly, I mainly see absurd suffering and struggle ahead either which way, but that does not absolve me of my responsibilities to communicate this message to you as need be for HIStory's sake.

As free creatures, you may believe what you want to believe regardless of the truth.

Figure it out...

What Love IS...

For many, love is just a word
that's often spoken, seldom heard.
For many, love is just a sound
that often on their lips is found.
For many, love doesn't mean a thing
though often it feels the songs they sing.

For some, love is what they show.
It's the only way of life they know.
For some, love is what they do
to help the hurting see life through.
For some, love means everything
and gives them every reason to sing.

The Meaning of the Universe

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. [Genesis 1:1]

He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth...[Surat al-Anam: 101]

In the Beginning, at the Moment of Creation, there was pure Energy as everything was created from nothing. Per the First Law of Thermodynamics, this Energy has been neither created nor destroyed since the Beginning, it has simply changed form (E=mc^2).

But what form has the Energy taken?

Stephen Hawking, one of the greatest minds in Physics, looks back upon the universe in his book, "A Brief History Of Time", and writes: "It would be very difficult to explain why the universe should have begun in just this way, except as the act of a God who intended to create beings like us. (Hawking, p.127)"

An implication of Hawking's comment is that, if you don't believe in a Creator and maintain that the universe was born of a "Big Bang", then you have an "irrational faith" in luck. Why? Because it is, for all intents and purposes, impossible for the historical flow of events to have unfolded as they have by chance such that you exist as an intelligent being able to look back upon the universe and contemplate its meaning. Accordingly, a reasonable mind will believe the Beginning was the Moment of Creation and the Energy has been used to do the Creator's work ever since.

So what does the universe mean?

Let's first consider the word, "UNI"-"VERSE":

"UNI" may be defined as "one".

"VERSE" may be defined as "a sentence" (as in The Bible).

Thus, one way to think of the "UNIVERSE" is as it being "one sentence", i.e., A UNIFIED FORM OF EXPRESSION.

In this context, let's presume that the universe is not a product of freak luck and therefore unintelligible, but rather that the universe is, in fact, the meaningful work of an intelligent Creator, i.e., "God". (Hence our ability to comprehend it.)

What is the purpose of the universe in which we dwell?

If the universe is thought of as a sentence, the Creator of the universe is the Author of the sentence. I believe the purpose of the sentence being written by God in the form of the universe is to express His meaning to you. After all, the word "sentence" is derived from "sense". You are a sentient creature in the context of God's Creation and are therefore designed to sense the meaning of what God is authoring.

Now consider this. What is special about a sentence?

A sentence can be defined as: "a group of syntactically related words that states something". What's remarkable about a sentence is that the value, i.e., meaning, is greater than the sum of the parts. After all, the meaning of each word in a sentence, and each letter of each word, is of limited or no value in expressing the meaning of a sentence as a whole. Indeed, the meaning expressed is really derived from the RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN the letters and the words in unified form. The universe, IMHO, is no different, and we are each part of its meaning through our relationships with others and God's creation.

What is the meaning God is seeking to convey?

Now here's where things get confused.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. [Genesis 1:27]

Who are "you"?

In a general sense you are a "life form", i.e., a form of Energy drawn since the Moment of Creation. The form you have taken is derived from lessons learned through the interaction of "conscious being" between the past and the future over time. Much of what has been learned from your "life path" since the Beginning is encoded in the "sentence" of the human genome that makes "you". (For the devout secular believer, you are literally stardust that has fortuitously fallen into place over all time up to the moment you read this. The point of contention is whether your good fortune was divine providence or freak luck.)

So what do you do as a "human being"?

That which is "I", i.e., your conscious being, is always NOW. That being is in between the past and the future. That being CHOOSES the the course between the past and the future, i.e., your life path. More specifically, we choose from future possibilities based upon past realized possibilities as we author our own lives and, in turn, transform this world.

In this sense, you are an author of your life story as God is the Author of HIStory. You are both a creature and a creator. This is free will.

But how can this be?

Is human history authored according to God's Will or not?

That's up to you:

Will you choose a loving relationship with God and be a meaningful part of the eternal story your Author is writing?

Or will you misspell your life and be a meaningless, temporary mistake?

This is the life lesson of HIStory Christ is teaching.

The choice to take part is yours.

DOES THIS MAKE "SENSE" TO YOU?

"Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker, to him who is but a potsherd among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, 'What are you making?' Does your work say, 'He has no hands'?

Woe to him who says to his father, 'What have you begotten?' or to his mother, 'What have you brought to birth?' [Isaiah: 45:9-10]
