Just as the DJIA thrusts above the psychologically important 14000 mark and America reaches a manic extreme of unwarranted confidence in the future (given past "sin"), North Korea enters the equation with a threat to unleash war on South Korea and its American protectorate.
North Korea has announced it is voiding non-aggression pacts with South Korea and severing its hotline with Seoul, hours after threatening the US with a pre-emptive nuclear strike.
North Korea "abrogates all agreements on non-aggression reached between the North and the South," the state-run Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea said in a statement.
"It notifies the South side that it will immediately cut off the North-South hotline," said the statement, which was carried by the official Korean Central News Agency.
The statement came just hours after the UN Security Council unanimously voted to impose tough sanctions against the rogue nation.
While I don't think North Korea is planning an all-out nuclear war against South Korea and America, what is possible is that some sort of limited military action, like a repeat of the artillery bombardment of Yeonpyeong Island. Indeed, this is what's suggested by the following CNN newsclip:
Of course, Russia and China are well aware of the likely repercussions of any sort of North Korean strike against South Korea at this point as the tensions between East and West, Communism and Capitalism, North Korea and South Korea, yin and yang have slowly been brought into perfect imbalance and a most potent ignition point.

`NK commander who led Cheonan-Yeonpyeong attacks fired`

Kim Kyuk Sik (photo), commander of the 4th Corps of the Chosun People`s army, appears to have been fired, sources said Monday. He is known to be one of those who initiated last year`s attacks on the South Korean naval vessel Cheonan and Yeonpyeong Island.
A source said, “Kim must have been dismissed given all of the circumstances up to now." Another source said, “It seems that Kim has not yet been promoted at least."
Kim was not on the list of the funeral committee for Kim Jong Il announced Monday last week and has not yet visited the funeral site. South Korean intelligence, however, says the commander`s dismissal is not a soft approach gesture that North Korea wants to show to South Korea.
In February 2009, Kim Kyuk Sik was appointed commander of the corps governing Hwanghae Province and the Northern Limit Line in the Yellow Sea after serving as a chief of staff of the North Korean (Chosun) People`s Army. After the replacement of the corps commander last month, many rumors were milled over whether he was demoted or promoted to new supreme leader Kim Jong Un`s military adviser.
In the meantime, the official Workers` Party daily Rodong Shinmun said, "All party entities across the country support our great compatriot Kim Jong Un`s ideology and leadership. Let us safeguard the party`s central committee led by our respectful Kim Jong Un."
North Korean media covered stories on support for Kim Jong Un as head of the central committee and top military commander Sunday.
In North Korea, the leader is supposed to lead the people through the party. The succession will be complete only if Kim Jong Un becomes leader or general secretary of the party.
Yang Moo-jin, a professor at the University of North Korean Studies in Seoul, said, "This implies that Pyongyang will move fast to end the power succession process. Kim Jong Un will be appointed the party`s general secretary at the general assembly of the party`s central committee in the foreseeable future."

North Korea's ambassador to China is purportedly missing and rumored to be in Pyongyang. Meanwhile, Chinese President Hu Jintao reportedly went to the North Korean embassy in Beijing to try to meet the ambassador. This all may be suggestive that a power struggle is currently underway in North Korea.

I think I should point out that it would come as no surprise to me if North Korea invaded South Korea relatively soon.

Thus, it appears the "Old Enemy" is likely planning to ignite the East-West 'Hot War' via Korea (and the Mideast) in the wake of waging false peace over the past 20-or-so years per a long-term plan.
The bottom line is that if the end of the Cold War occurred on Christmas Day in the wake of a lunar eclipse on the winter solstice in 1991, then maybe the Kremlin is planning to start the Hot War in the wake of a lunar eclipse on the winter solstice this year.
The Kremlin has been pretty brazen in its deceptive and ultimately murderous manipulation of world history, yet everyone in the West continues to believe in the "strong delusion".
Let's cut to the chase as the crisis on the Korean peninsula comes to a head.
What everyone needs to recognize is that Kim Jong Il and his young heir apparent Kim Jong-un don't take a dump without the permission of Beijing and Moscow.
Today, China supplies about 90% of North Korea's oil, 80% of its consumer goods and 45% of its food. Beijing is Pyongyang's only formal military ally and its primary backer in the United Nations Security Council and other diplomatic forums. If it weren't for the Chinese, there would be no North Korean missile program, no North Korean nuclear program and no North Korea. (Forbes)
That Western analysts try and ascertain the thinking of Pyongyang without reference to the larger strategic machinations of the "Old Enemy" is foolhardy and incompetent, to say the least. The term "Western intelligence" truly is an oxymoron IMHO:

Note how China is playing hardball with Obama in condemning North Korea in its brazen artillery attack on civilian targets on Yeonpyeong and is strangely unwilling to cooperate in reigning in the seeming rogue dictatorial regime in Pyongyang:

While the focus in my writings has been on the DJIA, this also applies to other widely followed stock indices in other countries. As for a Korean crisis, obviously the key benchmarks in that part of the world would be South Korea's KOSPI, Japan's Nikkei, Hong Kong's Hang Seng and China's SSE. Low and behold, note how these major stock indices recently reversed from the 2000, 10000, 25000 and 3000 marks respectively:
As for the DJIA, it is poised above the 11000 mark. The reversal from Dow 11K in September of 2008 marked when the financial crisis hit that led to the Great Recession and currently ongoing global crisis. Another such reversal also occurred just before the May "flash crash" associated with the onset of the EU crisis that may soon be coming to a head:

Going way back, I have been warning of the possibility that a second Korean War might be ignited as part of the East starting World War Three with the West. From my 1998 "Korea Alert":

The sinking of the South Korean Cheonan warship in March has the region on edge, so it won't take much to trigger a full-scale war. This is the view of the planets from New York City on Aug. 1, at 6am. We have the most planets in the tightest alignments and at the supposedly 'sensitive' Zero degrees of Cardinal signs. It makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
I looked at records going back to the 1800’s, and this is the most difficult alignment I found. When I was at a conference in Boston last month, someone said this was the most difficult alignment they have seen in the last "1,000 years." Another person told me this is the worst alignment in "10,000 years."
What are possible consequences?
Worst cases include a nuclear accident. Nuclear war. Massive societal collapse. Maybe a pole flip, which can wipe out nearly everything.
Cardinal Climax is especially intimidating because of the proximity to the widely touted Mayan Calendar End Date. Plus, the Christians are looking for the Return of Jesus and/or the Rapture, the Muslims await the return of the umteenth Imam, the White Buffalo has been born, and Jews are fighting over the right to rebuild Solomon's Temple on the 'temple mount' in Jerusalem. These are all signs of “end times” by many different cultures.
The one thing most convincing to me is that there are more people alive on the planet today than all who have ever lived in recorded history. So it may be that every soul is on board for this event!
It's possible that part of what is about to unfold is the Revelation of God, i.e., the second coming of Christ, who I believe is me.
If so, then what is effectively underway is that I am, in essence, the source of humanity's rebirth, i.e., the meaning through which life resurrects and continues forth. I really don't want such a role, but apparently "I am that I am" by birth, so it is what it is.
If, indeed, the Elliott Wave Primary Wave 2 peak has just been reached in the Grand Supercycle bear market and Primary Wave 3 down, the "Apocalypse Wave", is next, what does this mean? Well, just consider the following chart presented in Robert Prechter's Elliott Wave Theorist January investment letter projecting the stock market's course over the next year or so:
That is not a misprint. The Elliott Wave Principle suggests a 90%+ drop in stock prices, to Dow 1000 or lower, lies ahead.
Since that post the stock market has dramatically reversed.

The possibility remains that the form negative, destructive mass e-motion (energy in motion) takes could be a geopolitical shock, i.e., war. While the potentially explosive situations in the Mideast and on the Korean Peninsula appear to have simmered down, the possibility of an unexpected, historic upset must be deemed very high in the context of the current wave patterns and astroharmonics, particularly given "Kremlin Astrology".
This would normally seems absurdly improbable, but what is notable is how the current situation is parallel to right before 9/11. Just before the terrorist attacks in September 2001, the DJIA broke below the psychologically important 10,000 mark and there was a "Death Cross" when the 50-day moving average crossed below the 200-day moving average. President Obama is returning home after a summit with Russian President Dmitri Medvedev in Moscow and a G8 summit meeting in L'Aquila, Italy.
This total solar eclipse will traverse Southeast Asia. Pyongyang would not be testing nukes and/or otherwise provoking a confrontation with the West unless it has at least tacit approval from Beijing. The threat of China applying what would effectively be strangling economic sanctions means that North Korea's behavior is shaped by Chinese policy toward its Stalinist neighbor. So the real question here is not what the supposed madman, Kim Jong Il, is up to....but rather what is China up to?

Russian intelligence agencies received task to thoroughly monitor developments in Korean peninsula
Russia has revealed an unprecedented level of concern over Pyongyang's increasing belligerence and is taking security measures as a precaution against the possibility that tension over North Korea could escalate into nuclear war, The Moscow Times reports, referring to unidentified officials. Sensitive political decisions taken by Moscow are traditionally revealed by anonymous officials through Russian news agencies.
A security source told news agency Interfax that the standoff triggered by Pyongyang's recent nuclear test could affect the security of Russia's far eastern regions, which border North Korea. "The need has emerged for an appropriate package of precautionary measures," the paper cites the unidentified source. "We are not talking about stepping up military efforts but rather about measures in case a military conflict, perhaps with the use of nuclear weapons, flares up on the Korean peninsula." The official did not elaborate further, The Moscow Times notes.
Radio Ekho Moskvy reported earlier this week that Russian intelligence agencies had received task to thoroughly monitor developments in the Korean peninsula and to report immediately on changes of situation. (Axis News)
All said and done, the megolamaniacal totalitarian regimes in Moscow and Beijing continue to tailor world history toward an apocalyptic world war with great success because the West is wholly deluded and unaware of the secret war plan unfolding.

Speaking of the surprise unleashing of a nuclear war, the following should be noted. Recently the command element of the U.S. army, evidently, does not exclude the possibility of opening military operations even in the main theaters with the use of just conventional means of destruction. Such a beginning of war can create favorable conditions for the movement of all nuclear forces to the regions of combat operations, bringing them into the highest level of combat readiness, and subsequently inflicting the first nuclear strike with the employment in it of the maximum number of missile launch sites, submarines and aircraft at the most favorable moment.
One of the advantages the Soviets see of the conventional phase is the possibility that it provides cover to operations to initiate a nuclear attack, preparations that might otherwise be detected and provide warning. The notion of striking at "the most favorable moment" included in this quote is often encountered in Soviet military literature, especially in regard to surprise attack. In the past this aim was possible of achievement only with the successive forward movement of land forces (or the enemy) to close with the enemy and to destroy his firepower. In the modern attack, when the mission of destruction can be accomplished by nuclear strikes, made at any depth, practically speaking, forward movement becomes a secondary item. It is not even necessary in certain cases. The situation can arise, for example, when the enemy, as a result of the massive nuclear strikes inflicted upon him, such strikes being the main part of the attack, capitulates and peace-loving forces accede to political power in his country..."
