Looks like there are preparations being made for a major event of some sort. The most likely explanation is that this is for the May 5th Victory Day Parade and festivities that will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the capitulation of Nazi Germany in 1945. Of course, another possibility is that the Kremlin is gearing up for the funeral of Russian President Vladimir Putin. We'll know soon...
Vladimir Putin’s spokesman has been forced to deny that the 62-year-old president is in poor health after a string of meetings were canceled and the Kremlin published old photographs to claim work was proceeding as usual.
Concerns over Putin’s well-being were first raised earlier this week when he postponed a trip to Kazakhstan for talks with the country’s president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko. A source in the Kazakh government told Reuters that the visit was canceled because Putin had fallen ill.
Putin has not been seen in public since a meeting and press conference with Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi on 5 March, where he appeared healthy.
“There’s no need to worry, everything is fine,” Peskov told the radio station Ekho Moskvy when asked about the leader’s health. He said Putin is “constantly in meetings, but they are not all public”, adding that the business at hand was “very stressful” because of the crises he is dealing with.

The Russian president was slated to talk with officials from Georgia’s breakaway republic of South Ossetia on Wednesday, but the meeting was reportedly canceled at the last minute. He also failed to attend an annual meeting with officers of the Federal Security Service on Thursday, although Peskov said he hadn’t been planning to attend this year. Sources close to the Kremlin reportedly told RBK newspaper that the governor of the Yamal-Nenets region hadn’t met with Putin on Tuesday, even though the presidential website said he had.
DEBKAfile reports that Russian websitesThursday morning began running unconfirmed reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin had suddenly died. This has not been confirmed by any official in Moscow. But a short announcement of Putin’s death was seen briefly on Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s website early Thursday, only to be removed after 20 minutes. According to officials in Moscow, Putin was expected in Kazakhstan Thursday for meetings with its leaders, but failed to turn up.
Russkiy Monitor has gone ahead and published an email received by the editorial office claiming that Putin had a stroke. The Interpreter has a translation:
A letter arrived in the electronic email box of Russkiy Monitor signed by an anonymous official of the Central Clinical Hospital of the Department of Presidential Affairs in Moscow, in which he reported that among the patients of this elite Moscow hospital, where the top leadership of the Russian Federation are registered, there were rumors that Vladimir Putin was diagnosed several days ago with an ischemic stroke. Even so, the source said that the president was not hospitalized directly at the Central Clinical Hospital.
The editorial board of Russian Monitor cannot confirm or deny the information which might very well be false, however we must note the fact that the president has not been seen in public since last week, his meeting with the presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan was unexpectedly cancelled. Observers note that since Putin has been in power, nothing of this sort has occurred.
Boris Berezovsky was discovered dead yesterday afternoon at his home in Berkshire.
Early this morning police said they had called in specialist officers to investigate whether he had been killed by a chemical or biological agent or by radiation.
A cordon was put around his home last night after his body was discovered by a bodyguard. Reports from Russia said he was found in the bath at his house in Ascot.
Thames Valley Police said they had called in Scotland Yard and other experts and had kept the 67-year-old’s body in place as the investigation began.
Did Boris Berezovsky fall victim to an assassination ordered by Vladimir Putin?
Berezovsky, an outspoken critic of Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, had long feared for his life and had survived repeated assassination attempts — although none in recent years. He had been due to be a witness at the inquest next month into the death of Alexander Litvinenko, the former KGB spy who was murdered in 2006 after being poisoned by radioactive polonium-210 in what is believed to have been a Kremlin-sanctioned assassination.
The number two person in the terrorist organization al Qaeda, who they are crediting with the series of explosions in London, Ayman al-Zawahiri, is an old agent of the FSB. Being sentenced to death in Egypt for terrorism and hunted by Interpol, Ayman al-Zawahiri, in 1998, was in the territory of Dagestan, where for half a year he received special training at one of the educational bases of the FSB. After this training he was transferred to Afghanistan, where he had never been before and where, following the recommendation of his Lubyanka chiefs, he at once ... penetrated the milieu of bin Laden and soon became his assistant in al Qaeda...

As Yuri Andropov once explained to Ion Pacepa, the Muslim world was a Petri dish in which the Russians might "nurture a virulent strain of America-hatred from the bacterium of Marxist-Leninist thought." KGB General Alexander Sakharovsky once said to Pacepa: "In today's world, when nuclear arms have made military force obsolete, terrorism should become our main weapon." Americans and Europeans no longer remember the past and don't realize that history is now repeating itself. No effective counter-strategy is likely to emerge from Washington because a regime predicated on economic optimism cannot accept the negative implications of ongoing Russian enmity. People will simply believe what they wish to believe. More people indulge their own ideas of the world rather than deal with its realities.

As has been highlighted in this blog over and over and over again, there are substantial reasons to believe that Vladimir Putin is being made more than just the head of a Russian autocracy.
From outward appearances it would seem that the old Soviet Union has returned. A thing crucified, dead and buried has been resurrected. Four weeks after Vladimir Putin’s re-election, a procession led by the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church arrived at the Church of Christ the Redeemer in Moscow. In keeping with ancient tradition the doors of the church were shut, symbolizing the sealed cave where Christ’s body was placed following crucifixion. “After midnight,” noted Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya, “the Orthodox faithful taking part in the procession await the opening of the church doors. The patriarch stands on the steps at their head and is the first to enter the empty temple where the Resurrection of Christ has already occurred.” In due course the Patriarch offered up a prayer, the doors of the Church of Christ the Redeemer were opened and out stepped President Vladimir Putin. If any Christians were present for this ceremony they offered no protest to this blatant sacrilege. The woman who reported this event for the benefit of Western readers has since been assassinated. On October 4, 1957 Russia became the first country to put a rocket ship into outer space. The rocket ship was named Sputnik. This great accomplishment advanced their idea of denouncing the existence of Jehovah God. While in space American listening devices overheard a transmission from the Russian orbiting space craft. What was heard is how they view the universe. They said, "Our rocket has bypassed the moon. It is nearing the sun. We have not discovered God. We have turned out the lights in heaven that no man will be able to put on again. We are breaking the yoke of the gospel, the opiate of the masses. Let us go forth, and Christ shall be relegated to mythology."
Has Russia become the headquarters of Satan? A country that walks a thin line between an atheistic belief and democracy. While we have the advantage of time we must look at past history with biblical eyes. We must reevaluate Gorbachev's legacy and the statements he made concerning the world we live in. The atomic clock is ticking. Time is running out for the world. He said, "We need a new paradigm of development in which the environment will be a priority.... World civilization as we know it will soon end... We have very little time to act... We have to change our mindset, the way humankind views the world."
At first glance these statements by Gorbachev look innocent, but the fact that he is president of the Gorbachev Foundation which promotes the idea of one world government gives one goose bumps. (Randolph Wright, Mikhail Gorbachev Is The Biblical Antichrist, pp. 25-26)
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Hence, there has been a complete failure by the American and German peoples, upon whose shoulders the freedom and security of the Western world balanced. Moscow already knows victory is secured. It's "game over" because virtually no one in the West, so busy making money and enjoying themselves, has been willing to think for themselves, make sacrifices and take a stand for liberty and righteousness. Thus, all will be lost. It's just a matter of when the button is pushed to fulfill the Kremlin's fait accompli. (NOTE: The reason Moscow intends to launch its nukes is that this will permanently undo the West's potential to militarily resist the East's dominance.)
(P.S. Sorry to be so pessimistic, but I just don't see an out for us. Truly, we are in a 'Moses parting the Red Sea' sort of predicament for the free world to survive. I may think I'm the reincarnation of Jesus, but I also think I can't part seas. Indeed, it seems like I can't even convince a single person what I'm warning this world about is true, and unless the truth be known, there's seemingly no hope against the 'Old Enemy'. Of course, it is somewhat supernatural that no one does comprehend what I'm arguing, particularly given the abundant evidence and profound historical implications. Hence, it could well be that everything is up to the Author of HIStory, but, if so, why is this such a seemingly tragic tale? Where's the "victory" in a global thermonuclear war?)
If you are serious about the global war, let us try and think strategically. The most important strategic target in that war is the Kremlin. That is not only the best way to start winning it, but, as far as I can see, the only way. Paraphrasing Alexander (Litvinenko), we can say it is impossible to destroy international terrorism even in a century unless you disband the Russian secret services first.
September 11, 2001 was directly rooted in a joint Soviet/Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) operation conceived in the aftermath of the 1967 Six-Day Arab-Israeli War. The object of this joint operation was to repair Moscow's prestige by turning the Islamic world against Israel and by creating a rabid and violent hatred for its main supporter, the United States. The strategy was to portray the US, this land of freedom, as a Nazi-style "imperial-Zionist country" financed by Jewish money and run by a rapacious "Council of the Elders of Zion" (the Kremlin's epithet for the US Congress), the aim of which was allegedly to transform the rest of the world into a Jewish fiefdom. In other words, the heart of the joint plan was to convert the historical Arab and Islamic hatred of the Jews into a new hatred of the United States. We threw many millions of dollars at this gigantic task, which involved whole armies of intelligence officers.
Mohammed Atta, the pilot of the first plane to crash into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, had met with a senior Iraqi intelligence agent in Prague, Czech Republic, five months before the attack. But Iraqi intelligence was just a client of Russia's intelligence service. It brings a new understanding to the fact that President Putin was the first foreign President to call President Bush on 9/11. One may conjecture that he knew in advance what was to happen.

The right hand of bin Laden, the Number Two in 'Al-Qaeda', was trained at the secret base of the Russian secret services on Caucasus, the former Lieutenant Colonel of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) Alexander Litvinenko told the Polish Rzeczpospolita newspaper.
In the Mideast, one of the KGB's star recruits was Wadi Haddad, the deputy leader and head of foreign operations of the Marxist-Leninist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). In 1970, the KGB made him an agent, according to files delivered to British intelligence by Vasili Mitrokhin, a former KGB archivist who defected to the U.K. in 1992. The most dramatic terrorist strike organized by Haddad was the Sept. 6, 1970 attack on four airliners bound for New York. The hijacking attempt on an El Al Boeing 707 departing from Tel Aviv failed after one of the two terrorists was shot by an air marshal. The other three airlines were successfully diverted to other landing strips by the hijackers. The passengers and crew of a Pan Am Boeing 747 were evacuated and the plane was blown up; in the other two cases, the terrorists negotiated prisoner swaps. (Those were more innocent pre-9/11 times.) Thanks to the Mitrokhin files, we know that the KGB provided arms to Haddad, and it is a fair assumption that his handlers were aware of his plans.
Next Sunday is the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that so galvanized America to take a stand against the perceived enemy of "Islamofascism" thus leading to the War On Terror and the subsequent U.S. invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.
But did we get it right?
The inconvenient truth is that "The Old Enemy" responsible for 9/11 remains unrecognized.
On 9/11, the World Trade Center towers were destroyed and the Pentagon seriously damaged. These were ultimate symbols of American "Capitalism" and "Imperialism" in the eyes of the Communist powers-of-old and for this attack to occur in an underhanded manner such that Islamic militants were blamed rather than the Kremlin would be a source of great pride for Russia's secret services. (That the Jews and America itself are blamed for 9/11 by so many is an even larger feather in their cap!)
As repeatedly addressed in my articles and this blog, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of 9/11 and virtually all the terrorism against America that has been attributed to Al Qaeda, is likely not who he claims to be.

The real Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was born on April 14th, 1965 (per his Kuwaiti Interior Ministry files) and grew up in Kuwait. Between 1983 and 1986, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed studied in the U.S. and received a college degree in mechanical engineering. As Time magazine reported regarding KSM : "His English is flawless, and his intelligence formidable. He raced through an engineering degree at the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro in just two and a half years, graduating in 1986".
Here's the problem.
If Khalid Mohammed was born in 1965, then in July of 2009 he was 44 years-old. Does the man above look 44 years-old? Here's an image of KSM just after he was captured in Pakistan in March of 2003 when he should have been 37 years-old:
(Sammy) Zitawi, who is a now a small businessman in Greensboro, says his (college) friend, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, was one of the stars. "This guy was funny, he could make you laugh," he said. "He could make fun out of anything."
Zitawi said the disheveled, balding Khalid Sheikh Mohammed who was photographed right after his capture in Pakistan looked nothing like what he remembered. The Khalid Sheikh Mohammed he knew was a small man, just 5-foot-4 and maybe 135 pounds. "He had a cute face with a beard. He had a long hair back then. That's why I didn't know him when he had less hair and no beard. They were talking Khalid Mohammed, I knew him as Khalid Sheikh."
Furthermore, if Khalid's English was known to be flawless, why is the language from his confession above so tortured? I have a hard time believing anybody who speaks such atrocious English could graduate from an American college, never mind on an accelerated basis.
The truth of the matter IMO is that the real Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was killed, along with his extended family, when Iraq occupied Kuwait in 1990. These identities were then handed to highly-skilled terrorist operatives from Baluchistan that were used to carry out the major acts of terrorism against the U.S. that were attributed to Al Qaeda.
Short and to the point, Laurie quickly zeroes in on how a mysterious family from Baluchistan has overseen almost all the major terrorist attacks against America starting with the World Trade Center bombing in 1993 and culminating in 9/11. Indeed, Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda are almost a footnote to what this family has done.
As I've highlighted before, you can easily establish how America and the world has fallen victim to black-ops by professionally trained terrorists using false identities by comparing the DNA of the various members from this Baluch family terrorist network that have thus far been captured, e.g., Ramzi Yousef (AKA Abdul Basit and the '93 WTC bombing mastermind), Basit's uncle Khalid Mohammed and the 9/11 mastermind, Ammar al-Baluchi (aka Ali Abdul Aziz Ali) - Khalid Mohammed's "other nephew" and right-hand man (the 9/11 paymaster) and Abdul Karim - Ramzi Yousef's supposed brother. If you compare the DNA between these guys, I'm sure you'll find they aren't even directly related. They are simply skilled Baluchi terrorist operatives trained by the KGB and Saddam's Mukhabarrat and handed useful false identities from a Western-travelled family from Kuwait (to facilitate unimpeded travel in the West by terrorist operatives) that ceased to exist when Iraq occupied the Kuwaiti emirate in 1990/91.
(Interestingly, upon her insistence, I met Dr. Mylroie on March 1st, 2003 for lunch at the Pentagon City Ritz-Carlton to discuss my supposition that KSM was using a false identity. Before I headed down from my hotel room, news broke of his arrest on CNN and I actually informed her of it.)
The only key point where I and Laurie differ is on who is ultimately behind the terrorism directed at America to-date. Iraqi intelligence may have usurped key Baluchi terrorists during the Iran/Iraq War in the 1980s and later used them to underhandedly seek vengeance against the U.S. for the first Gulf War, but it is doubtful the this could have been done without the involvement of Russia's intelligence services. These highly-skilled terrorists were trained by the KGB, which built the Baluch resistance groups during Russia's occupation of Afghanistan during the 1980s. We consulted Sasha and Misha, two former KGB officers who are Afghanists – the veterans of Russo-Afghan war – and they seem to know Balochistan better than most Pakistanis. Obviously, Sasha and Misha are not their real names. They live on the same street in one of the quieter suburbs of Moscow. Two bonds tie them together in their retirement: While on active duty in KGB, they were both frequent travelers to Balochistan during the Russo-Afghan war where they were tasked to foment trouble in Pakistan; and they are both wary of Vodka, the mandatory nectar of Russian cloak and dagger community. They visit each other almost every day and that is why it was easy to catch them together for long chats over quantities of green tea and occasional bowls of Borsch.
We made more than a dozen visits to the single-bedroom flat of Misha, where Sasha was also found more often than not, and we picked their brains on Balochistan situation. As and when we unearthed new information on Balochistan, we returned to Sasha and Misha for comments.
As they told us, during the Russo-Afghan war, the Soviet Union was surprised by the ability and resourcefulness of Pakistan to generate a quick and effective resistance movement in Afghanistan. To punish Pakistan and to answer back in the same currency, Kremlin decided to create some organizations that would specialize in sabotage activities in Pakistan. One such organization was BLA (Balochistan Liberation Army), the brainchild of KGB that was built around the core of BSO (Baloch Students Organization). BSO was a group of assorted left-wing students in Quetta and some other cities of Balochistan.
Misha and Sasha can be considered among the architects of the original BLA.
Iraq's intelligence service, the Mukhabarrat, which was created by the KGB, would have been behind establishing the false identities ('legends') for these terrorists from a Kuwait-based family eliminated in 1990/91. KSM and 'family' then served the vengeful purposes of Baghdad (e.g., the '93 WTC bombing occurred on the 2nd anniversary of Kuwait's liberation from Iraqi occupation)....but these terrorists also served the purposes of Russian intelligence services who have long sought to engage in "Grey Terror" using Islamic extremists that could not be traced back to Moscow. Taking down the WTC Towers and striking the Pentagon were the most symbolic blows imaginable against American capitalism and imperialism....something our communist foes-of-old would revel in. To have achieved this in a way completely delinked from apparent responsibility would be a tremendous achievement for Russia's intelligence services.
What do we know about the new head of al-Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri?
Not very much. We know he`s a former `emir` of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad who spent three years in an Egyptian prison after his group assassinated the pro-western President Anwar Sadat. He`s also said to be a qualified surgeon, who became bin Laden`s personal physician and adviser in the late 1980s.
But there is one curious fact about him that it would be foolish for the West to ignore: his links with the KGB, and its successor, Russia`s Federal Security Service, or FSB.
It was Alexander Litvinenko, the rebel FSB officer assassinated with radioactive material in London in 2006, who named al-Zawahiri as `Moscow`s man in al-Qaeda`. In a interview following the 7 July 2005 attacks in London, he claimed that the future al-Qaeda chief had stayed in an FSB training centre in Dagestan, in the North Caucasus, in 1998.
`He took a six-month special training course there. Then he was sent to Afghanistan, where he had never been before. Immediately after that, under supervision of his FSB bosses, he penetrated bin Laden`s entourage and soon became his deputy in al-Qaeda . . . I saw those officers from the FSB directorate for Dagestan, who had been training al-Zawahiri shortly before, being reassigned to Moscow and getting promotions.`
- RUSSIAN FOREKNOWLEDGE OF 9/11 -
There seems to be little doubt that Russian intelligence had foreknowledge of the 9/11 attacks in the U.S.
September 12, 2001 (14:15) Yesterday at the headquarters of Central Intelligence Service in Langley a confidential meeting between one of the Deputy Directors of CIA and a special messenger of Russian Intelligence Service took place. According to NewsRu sources he delivered to his American colleagues some documents including audio tapes with telephone conversations directly relating to terrorist attacks on Washington and New York last Tuesday. According to these sources, Russian Intelligence agents know the organizers and executors of these terrorist attacks. More than that, Moscow warned Washington about preparation to these actions a couple of weeks before they happened.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said publicly that he ordered his intelligence agencies to alert the United States last summer that suicide pilots were training for attacks on U.S. targets.
Given that Moscow had the inside scoop that "suicide pilots were training for attacks on U.S. targets", why would have they gone ahead with the following potentially diversionary air drill the day before 9/11?
- MASSIVE RUSSIAN AIR EXERCISES DIVERTED NORAD'S ATTENTION ON 9/11 -
CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN AFS, Colo. – The North American Aerospace Defense Command shall deploy fighter aircraft as necessary to Forward Operating Locations (FOLS) in Alaska and Northern Canada to monitor a Russian air force exercise in the Russian arctic and North Pacific ocean.
“NORAD is the eyes and ears of North America and it is our mission to ensure that our air sovereignty is maintained,” said Lieutenant-General Ken Pennie, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of NORAD. “Although it is highly unlikely that Russian aircraft would purposely violate Canadian or American airspace, our mission of vigilance must be sustained.”
NORAD-allocated forces will remain in place until the end of the Russian exercise.
Maneuvers to simulate defense against a large-scale airspace attack began on 10 September 2001. According to Air Force chief Anatoliy Kornukov, they were intended to cover the whole Arctic, as well as northern parts of the Pacific and the Atlantic oceans, including the vicinity of Norway, Iceland, the United States, Canada, and Great Britain. The main task was reportedly to penetrate the air defense of NATO and North America (NORAD). As part of the exercise, long-range bombers were moved to auxiliary bases in Anadyr, Tiksi, and Vorkuta. A new element of these maneuvers was, according to newspaper reports, training for the use of long-range ALCMs outside the reach of NORAD (since Russia has had long-range nuclear ALCMs since the 1980s, apparently these reports meant conventional ALCMs, which began to appear in the Russian Armed Forces only in the late 1990s).
On Sept. 11, Norad's radars were spread around the periphery of the U.S., looking outward for potential invaders. Inside U.S. borders, very few radars were feeding NEADS (Northeast Air Defense Sector) scopes. In essence, technicians were half-blind...
Russian warplanes threatened patrolling U.S. Navy P-3 aircraft over the Pacific Ocean last week as the American planes monitored a military exercise in the region, The Washington Times has learned.
At one point during the aerial harassment, a MiG-31 interceptor pilot flew his jet within 50 feet of a P-3 maritime patrol and reconnaissance plane.
The incident was similar to a Chinese aerial intercept that resulted in a collision earlier this year.
One alarming sign of the Russian intercept was a radio message sent by one MiG-31 pilot to his base stating his fire-control radar had "locked on" to the U.S. surveillance plane, U.S. intelligence officials said. A radar "lock" is a pilot's final step before firing a guided missile.
"It was a threatening action," said one official.

Meanwhile, Russian strategic air forces began a major exercise in the northern Pacific yesterday. The maneuvers will include practice missile attacks, Russia's official Itar-Tass news agency reported.
Strategic Tu-160 Blackjack and Tu-95 Bear bombers and Tu-22 and IL-78 tanker aircraft reportedly will take part. The exercises are set to continue until Friday.
In response to the war games, the Air Force announced on Sunday that it is sending additional fighter aircraft "as necessary" to Alaska and northern Canada to monitor the exercises.

The Russian air drill toward North America that started the day before 9/11, the first of such scale up to that point since the Soviet Union had collapsed a decade beforehand, might have been timed to constrain U.S. responsiveness to the hijacked airliner attacks that occurred. Russia may have engaged in highly provocative maneuvers in the Pacific the week before 9/11 and a massive air exercise to the north as the attacks unfolded so that NORAD and U.S. air defenses would be distracted.
- MOSCOW'S MOTIVE -
As for why no major terrorism has occurred against the U.S. since 9/11, I believe the answer is simple. America was being lured into military action in the Islamic world by the 9/11 attacks. Moscow's strategic objective has therefore been achieved.

If you follow the trail of evidence presented above, the harsh reality you will find is that the case I'm presenting is true. Yet, no matter how compelling the evidence and the arguments presented, the vast majority will simply refuse to believe the truth and continue to "cooperate in their own destruction".
This is noteworthy in that, if the coup was a spontaneous event, how did Boris Yeltsin and the purported coup opposition have a chance to fashion such a massive Russian flag in anticipation of the crisis so they could more effectively present to the world their historical significance? Such massive props likely only avail themselves in such circumstances if the stage had been planned beforehand. (I could understand a colossal Soviet flag being on-hand, but at the time of the coup the idea of the reemergence of Russia in place of the Soviet Union was radically out-of-place, accept for maybe long-term Kremlin strategists. Hence, why in the hell was a block-long Russian flag lying-in-wait to be used as a propaganda device?!)
I guess a key question now is, was this part of a "20-year plan" implemented by the Communist East toward an all-out war with the Capitalist West? If so, time might be up.

The Kremlin has been pretty brazen in its deceptive and ultimately murderous manipulation of world history, yet everyone in the West continues to believe in the "strong delusion".
As established by the 1999 apartment bombings in southern Russia and the 2004 Beslan Massacre, Russian secret services have a history of carrying out self-induced "false flag" terrorism for strategic purposes. Notably, the main metro bombing occurred at Lubyanka Station under the headquarters of the Russian Federal Security Service (the "FSB" - i.e., the KGB as-it-were). Bear in mind that the FSB has some 75,000 highly-skilled agents trained in deception tactics available to create large-scale Potemkin masquerades to misinform the world. (Most often they carry out actual terrorist acts killing people, but I think in this case they didn't really want to kill, and thereby enrage, fellow Muscovites since the Russian people are aware of the FSB's tactics in this regard.)

My guess at this point is that this was false flag terrorism setting the stage for a new Russian invasion of Georgia or like action. Of course, another Russian invasion of Georgia would for all intents and purposes be staged like last time. That this might be coming down the historical pike is indicated by the news story below that suggests the Georgian people are being desensitized to a future Russian invasion. This may have been done to temper any actual resistance by the Georgian people should Russia actually invade in the near-future since Georgians are unaware of how their nation is but a puppet in a Kremlin geopolitical puppet show geared ultimately to effect the West's defeat.

The purported Moscow subway bombings of three days ago may be setting the stage for Russian military action in the Caucasus and, most important, another invasion of "Western-backed" Georgia:
The head of Russia’s Security Council accused Georgia today of backing terrorism in the North Caucasus and said that it could be involved in the Moscow Metro bombing.
As Moscow held the first funerals for victims of the attack, Nikolai Patrushev alleged that members of Georgia’s special services had links with terrorist groups in the region and said that investigators would look for evidence of their involvement in the double suicide-bombing that killed 39 people on the Metro.
Mr Patrushev, the former director of the Federal Security Service, the successor to the Soviet-era KGB, singled out Georgia and its pro-Western President Mikheil Saakashvili after being asked in an interview about possible foreign involvement in the terror attack.
“All theories have to be checked. For example, there is Georgia and the leader of that state, Saakashvili, whose behaviour is unpredictable,” Mr Patrushev told the Kommersant newspaper.
“He has already unleashed war once. It is possible that he may unleash it again. We have had information that individual members of Georgian special forces support contacts with terrorist organisations in the Russian North Caucasus. We must check this also in relation to the acts of terror in Moscow.”
As I pointed out in 2008, Russia's invasion of Georgia that year was part of some sort of strategic deception that ultimate could lead to a military confrontation between Russia and NATO. This might be what is about to play out.
