Neda's Call

I just put together this short video in memory of Neda Agha-Soltan (ندا آقا سلطان), the young female bystander who was shot dead yesterday in the streets of Tehran by a Basij militia sniper.

Most appropriately, her name "Neda" in Farsi means "voice" or "call". Let Neda's martyrdom be a call to the Iranian people to rise up and stand for freedom from tyranny! The video is set to the Peter Gabriel song, "Biko", which was written in memory of Stephen Biko, a martyr of the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa.

Whether the ruling clerics like it or not, as an innocent symbol of goodness sacrificed to expose evildoers, Neda represents a true "shahid"....a true martyr for God. The apocalyptically-obsessed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his minions like the hateful 'President' Mahmoud AhMADinejad don't represent God's will for this world. They represent lies, murder and tyranny and are opposed to the truth, life and freedom that comes from God's love.

Peter Gabriel's "Biko"

September '77
Port Elizabeth weather fine
It was business as usual
In police room 619
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Yihla Moja, Yihla Moja
-The man is dead

When I try to sleep at night
I can only dream in red
The outside world is black and white
With only one colour dead
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Yihla Moja, Yihla Moja
-The man is dead

You can blow out a candle
But you can't blow out a fire
Once the flames begin to catch
The wind will blow it higher
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Yihla Moja, Yihla Moja
-The man is dead

And the eyes of the world are
watching now
watching now

On a side note, for this Father's Day I spent the day with my Dad who had double bypass heart surgery on Wednesday and is now recovering. I just want to thank everyone for their prayers and thank God and the miracles of science for providing him a new lease on life.
