This time Superstorm Sandy, a name that means "defending men", flooded out the Ground Zero memorial (hint, hint?!), and in response New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, in an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper, declared: "I believe we don't just rebuild, we rebuild better."
From Anderson Cooper's blog:
Tonight, for the first time since the storm, the lights on One World Trade will turn on and construction will begin again. "I believe we don't just rebuild, we rebuild better. And that's what this site is all about, and that's what New York is all about," says Cuomo.Here's the report that aired on CNN last night:
"It was the magic of this site and what it stands for; this is a monument to New York resilience. We're gonna build back and we're gonna build back better, and we did on this site and we will once again."
but we will rebuild with dressed stone;
the fig trees have been felled,
but we will replace them with cedars."
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. [2 Chronicles 7:14]
