This Week's Lunar Eclipse, Autumn Panics & God's Harvest

And God said, "Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years." [Genesis 1:14]

“There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” [Luke 21:25-28] 

This week, on October 7-8, there will be a total lunar eclipse.

Does this eclipse portend the crash of Western civilization? There's compelling reason to think so.

In recent weeks or months, you might have caught Pastor John Hagee, Rabbi Mark Biltz and/or Rabbi Jonathan Cahn on television or elsewhere discussing how a "tetrad" (4 consecutive) of blood moons (total lunar eclipses) are occurring in 2014 and 2015 that will coincide with the Jewish holidays of Passover and Sukkot during the spring and autumn, respectively.

We are now approaching the second lunar eclipse in the tetrad series on October 8th next week.



According to the Hebrew calendar, this next eclipse is occurring at the beginning of a Jewish "Sabbatical year" called a Shemitah (the lunar-based Hebrew calendar effectively starts in September on the Gregorian calendar).  According to biblical tradition, this year is supposed to be set aside by Jewish faithful for serving God and during it land must rest and crops not be planted.  Hence, the harvest gathered in the autumn at the beginning of the Sabbatical year is extra important since it will be used for two years.

The lunar eclipse this week marks the beginning of Sukkot, the Jewish harvest festival. Sukkot runs seven day, i..e, from October 8th to 15th this year on the Gregorian calendar.  On the Hebrew calendar this is from Tishrei 15 to Tishrei 22.

As explained in my Master's Thesis on "Manic-Depressive Man" and repeatedly highlighted in this blog, there is a seasonal tendency for "panics" to occur in mass mood during late-Tishrei on the Hebrew calendar which is usually October on the Gregorian calendar. Typically these waves of collective fear show up on Wall Street in the form of financial panics.

Incredibly, as discovered by Chris Carolan, author of the award-winning 1998 article written, Autumn Panics: A Calendar Phenomenon, the 1929 and 1987 stock market crashes climaxed into the same day on the Hebrew calendar, i.e., the 28th day of the 7th lunar month (Tishrei on the Hebrew calendar):





I took Carolan's discovery a step further utilizing an online Hebrew date converter. What I found is that the tendency is for mass panics to develop between the full moon and new moon in the second half of the 7th month on the lunar calendar which is generally equivalent to the period between Tishrei 15 and Tishrei 30 on the Jewish calendar (usually late-October on the Gregorian calendar). During this annual time window, the following major "panics" took place:

13 October 1857 = Panic of 1857 = 25th of Tishrei, 5618

24 September 1869 = Black Friday in 1869 = 19th of Tishrei, 5630

29 October 1929 = 1929 Stock Market Crash = 25th of Tishrei, 5690

26 October 1962 = Cuban Missile Crisis = 28th of Tishrei, 5723

24 October 1973 = Yom Kippur Arab/Israeli War = 28th of Tishrei, 5734

19 October 1987 = 1987 Black Monday Crash = 26th of Tishrei, 5748

13 October 1989 = 1989 Friday the 13th Crash = 14th of Tishrei, 5750

27 October 1997 = 1997 Asian Financial Crisis = 26th of Tishrei, 5758

24 October 2008 = 2008 Financial Crisis = 25th of Tishrei, 5769

Note that I've included in the list above the October 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis and October 1973 Arab/Israeli Yom Kippur War since, while not reflected in major stock market crashes, these historical crises were still effectively mass panics. This was signified on both occasions by the fact that the highest DEFCON nuclear alerts ever were reached during these crises, actually peaking right into the same time frame of the 7th lunar month as when the stock market crashes in 1929 and 1987 climaxed.

In 2014, Tishrei 15-30 on the Hebrew calendar will fall on October 8-23 on the Gregorian calendar. Thus, with the lunar eclipse this week, we are entering the period when panics tend to kick-off according to mass mood seasonality. If a mass panic develops, it may climax into October 20-23 as the historical pattern suggests.

That a lunar eclipse could seemingly "trigger" a coming panic should come as no surprise to anyone who frequents this blog.

We are now entering a "Puetz eclipse crash window" with the lunar eclipse this week that will be followed by a solar eclipse on on October 23rd.

"Puetz attempted to discover if eclipses and market crashes were somehow connected. Without discussing our own opinion on the potential connection between astronomical configurations and market timing, let's simply relate to you the basic findings discussed by Puetz. He emphasized that he is not contending that full moons close to solar eclipses cause market crashes. But he does conclude that a full moon in general and a lunar (eclipse) full moon close to solar eclipses, in particular, seem to be the triggering device that allows for the rapid transformation of investor psychology from manic greed to paranoia. He asks what the odds are that eight of the greatest market crashes in history would accidentally fall within a time period of six days before to three days after a full moon that occurred within six weeks of a solar eclipse? His answer is that for all eight crashes to accidentally fall within the required intervals would be .23 raised to the eighth power less than one chance in 127,000."

". . .Puetz) used eight previous crashes in various markets from the Holland Tulip Mania in 1637 through the Tokyo crash in 1990. He noted that market crashes tend to be lumped near the full moons that are also lunar eclipses. In fact, he states, the greatest number of crashes start after the first full moon after a solar eclipse when that full moon is also a lunar eclipse . . Once the panic starts, Puetz notes, it generally lasts from two to four weeks. The tendency has been for the markets to peak a few days ahead of the full moon, move flat to slightly lower --waiting for the full moon to pass. Then on the day of the full moon or slightly after, the brunt of the crash hits the marketplace."

Notably, The 1929 stock market crash occurred with a Puetz crash window around a solar eclipse on November 1st of that year and the 1987 panic occurred in connection with a solar eclipse on September 23rd and lunar eclipse on October 7th in that year.

All in all, based upon seasonal patterns in mass mood swings, there is a danger the world will experience a mass panic (upset of collective beliefs and expectations) starting around the time of the lunar eclipse this week and climaxing into October 20-23.

What form might any approaching panic take?

This panic could take the form of a global financial meltdown and/or even a nuclear third world war.

Elul 29 & The End Of The Age

Tomorrow is Elul 29 on the Hebrew calendar, the last day of the Jewish year 5774.  Starting Thursday (actually at sunset tomorrow), a new Sabbatical year, the Jewish "Shemitah", will begin.  Is this the 'End of the Age'?

THE MYSTERY OF THE SHEMITAH

Pastor Jonathan Cahn, a messianic Jewish Rabbi who leads Hope of the World ministries in New Jersey, just released a new book, The Mystery of the Shemitah, which focuses on the historical relationships between the Jewish "Shemitah", the Sabbatical year of rest that recurs every seven years on the Hebrew calendar, and economic and geopolitical crises.
Of particular note were the last two Shemitahs from September 30, 2000 to September 17, 2001 and from September 13, 2007 to September 29, 2008 (the Hebrew calendar year is based upon a lunar year).  Both of these periods saw substantial reversals in the stock market and economy that were capped by major crashes on the very last day of the Jewish year, Elul 29.
Elul 29 has special significance to Jewish believers in the Sabbatical year:

At the end of seven years you will make a release. And this is the manner of the release: to release the hand of every creditor from what he lent his friend; he shall not exact from his friend or his brother, because the time of the release for the Lord has arrived. (Deuteronomy 15:1–2)

Personal debts are considered forgiven at sunset on the 29th of Elul. Since this aspect of shmita is not dependent on the land, it applies to Jews both in Israel and elsewhere. (Wiki)

....there is an intriguing phenomenon surrounding the date of Elul 29 on the Jewish calendar.  As Rabbi Cahn discovered and spelled out in his book, The Harbinger, on this last day on the Jewish calendar in the last two Sabbatical Years, 2001 and 2008 (Sabbatical Years occur every seven years under Jewish tradition), two of the three largest point drops in the DJIA in stock market history occurred: 

The plunge of just over 7 percent or nearly 700 points on 9/17/01, or 29 Elul 5761 on the Hebrew calendar, occurred in response to the 9/11 attacks.  The drop of 777.7 points or 7 percent on 9/29/08, or 29 Elul 5768 on the Hebrew calendar, took place in reaction to the U.S. Congress failing to approve the first vote for a Wall Street bailout during the financial crisis that year. 

As pointed out in the section of my April (2012) blog dubbed, "The Mystery Of The Shmita & The Septennial Sabbatical Cycle", it's an incredible coincidence that two of the three largest point drops in the Dow struck on the last day of the seven-year Jewish Sabbatical cycle.  In fact, statistically the odds of this occurring are more than a million to one. 

So maybe God's trying to make a point with us.  What point could that be?

Russia is now openly invading Ukraine with regular military forces.

Notably this comes just after the U.S. stock market reached what I've been warning means the 'peak of Western Civilization' at the 2000 mark on the S&P 500 index:

Over the past two days the S&P 500 index closed at 2000.02 and 2000.12, respectively.  This is eerily similar to when the DJIA closed two days in a row at 2999.75 on July 16th and 17th of 1990 just before Iraq's invasion of Kuwait and the associated Persian Gulf Crisis that year:

As in July 1990, investors and society-as-a-whole are at an apex of manic optimism just before a depressing collapse, except this time around the breakdown will be of Grand Supercycle scale.

UKRAINE CRISIS: Russian financial and economic warfare against the West?

Last Tuesday, the U.S. and E.U. announced new economic sanctions against Russia in response to ongoing Russian military involvement with separatists fighting in eastern Ukraine.  These new stringent sanctions that are geared to impact Moscow's access to Western capital and the Russian oil industry came in the wake of the downing of Flight MH17 over the Donetsk region of Ukraine on July 17th.

Right after this new round of sanctions was announced, a sharp sell-off in stocks began on Wall Street with dramatic reversals from the psychologically important 17000, 11000 and 6000 marks in the DJIA, NYSE and DJ Composite indices, respectively:

The drubbing on Wall Street was spearheaded by a pronounced decline in financial stocks:

The five big American investment banks, J.P. Morgan (JPM), Bank of America (BAC), Citigroup (C), Goldman Sachs (GS) and Morgan Stanley (MS), all fell sharply.  These key financial institutions "control 95 percent of cash and derivatives trading for U.S. bank holding companies", a $700 trillion (with a "T") market.  Thus, the more they go down, the greater the danger of a collapse in the global financial system.

The sell-off in stocks last week was attributed to a bond default by Argentina and the newest round of economic sanctions on Russia, and this is the most likely and plausible explanation.

However, the lack of really pertinent news to cause such a sharp drop, including a 300+ point plunge in the DJIA on Thursday, prompted me to wonder about how Russia might retaliate against the West for new economic sanctions.  Beyond banning the import of some European fruit, Moscow has done little.

Such an impotent response from the Kremlin thus far seems a little odd to me given my supposition that Russia's emergent war on Ukraine is part of a large-scale plan to draw the West into World War Three.  Surely more aggressive retaliation must be in the works.

Indeed, keep in mind here my Global Bipolar Hypothesis.  According to this hypothesis, Western beliefs and expectations have been misled to irrational heights, represented by the DJIA peaking above the 17000 benchmark in July, for the sole purpose of a strategic upset by the powers of the East in the form of a surprise third world war.

While I've long emphasized that the form of that war will ultimately involve a thermonuclear attack on the U.S. and its allies, what I've failed to highlight is how the Kremlin's war plan involves using all fronts to overtake "world capitalism" including psychological, ideological, diplomatic, economic and political forms of struggle.

Nuclear war is a complex and many-sided process, which in addition to the operation of the armed forces will involve economic, diplomatic and ideological forms of struggle.  They will all serve the political aims of the war and be guided by them. [Soviet Strategy for Nuclear War (1979)]

In this regard, Russia has already been achieving great successes such as global misinformation campaigns to vilify America using media outlets like RT and al Jazeera and the election of Barack Obama as U.S. president.

But what of economic warfare?  After all, if I'm right, the worldwide struggle between the forces of Communism and Capitalism never ended but rather took a dangerously deceptive new form with the purported 'end of the Cold War'.

It would make sense that part of the Kremlin's strategy is to effect the failure of the capitalist system to prove the need for a authoritarian 'socialist' new world order in place of Capitalism before nuking America to assuredly gain global dominance.

How might this be achieved?

As made clear in my "Manic-Depressive Man" thesis, I'm aware of the inherently cyclical, self-destructive dynamics of market economies. The question here is whether or not these tendencies might be strategically manipulated by Moscow to achieve the end of world Capitalism.  Certainly the last major cyclical downturn into 2009 was a close call and little has been done to correct the failings within the system since then to prevent a far graver collapse:

Russia's 'casus belli' for war on Ukraine: Blowing up gas pipelines?

Yesterday's "invasion" of Ukraine beyond Crimea was a false alarm.

Russia is claiming that "Crimean self-defence personnel" carried out a limited incursion in Kherson, just outside of Crimea, to prevent "an act of sabotage on a gas pipeline":

Crimean self-defence units prevented an act of sabotage on a gas pipeline on Saturday, March 15. Prime Minister Sergei Aksyonov said the saboteurs had identified themselves as Ukrainian Border Guard Service officials.

“Crimean self-defence personnel prevented an attempt to block the gas pipeline to Crimea at the Arbatsky Spit. To prevent such attempts [in the future], the gas distribution station was put under protection. The persons who tried to damage the equipment – up to 40 people, according to preliminary information – and who identified themselves as Ukrainian Border Guard Service officials left the station in a hurry,” Aksyonov said.

He asked Russian Black Sea Fleet Commander Alexander Vitko to take the gas transportation system in this area under protection “in order to ensure energy security of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and uninterrupted operation of crucial facilities.”

This whole notion of Ukrainians blowing up gas pipelines may be what Moscow is planning to use for a 'casus belli', i.e., a cause for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine beyond Crimea. The Ukrainian "Right Sector", which looks to be some sort of controlled opposition the Kremlin is using, is threatening to blow-up oil pipelines carrying Russian gas to Europe:

The head of the Ukrainian nationalist movement Dmitry Yarosh has threatened to explode the gas pipeline through which the Russian gas is supplied to Europe, aiming to deprive it of its financing source.

Yarosh voiced his threats as part of his "address to the Ukrainian government and his compatriots" in which he is accusing Moscow of having plans to seize Ukraine . The text of his address was cited by the UNN news agency.

"We are well aware of the fact that Russia is earning money by transporting its oil and gas to the West through our pipe. Therefore, we'll destroy this pipe in order to deprive Russia of its financing source."

Of course, it makes no sense for Ukrainians to sabotage the gas pipelines traversing their nation since:

1. More than half of their own gas supply comes from Russia.

2. Europeans would be upset with the Ukraine for disrupting their gas supplies.

Nevertheless, this is the nonsensical tale that Russia appears ready to tell, and my guess it's because Russia wants a pretext for invading the rest of Ukraine since:

The Soviets never start a war. By definition, the United States or, more generally speaking, "imperialism is the source of all antagonistic conflicts of the present day world, the source of war danger." [General Major A.S. Milovidov, quoted in Soviet Strategy For Nuclear War, p.98]

Прес-служба Державної прикордонної служби України повідомляє, що 15 березня близько 13 години прикордонний наряд, що виконував завдання з контролю режиму на адміністративному кордоні Херсонської області та АР Крим в районі населеного пункту Стрілкове спостерігав висадку з 4 вертольотів 60 військовослужбовців Російської Федерації. Прикордонники спільно з військовослужбовцями ЗС України (близько 20 осіб) змушені були відійти до перехрестя, що веде у напрямку Генічеська та зайняти оборону. Російські війська, на допомогу яким підійшло 3 БТР, розпочали інженерне облаштування позиції. Близько 15.30 у цьому ж районі з 6 вертольотів висадилися ще 60 військовослужбовців РФ. Крім цьому відомо про колону БТРів, що рухається в район села Стрілкове вздовж Арабатської стрілки з населенного пункту Камянське.

Водночас в ході переговорів командування Бердянського прикордонного загону з військовослужбовцями РФ встановлено, що метою їх висадки є, нібито, «охорона від можливих терактів» газонасосної станції «Чорноморнафтогазу», що розташована у цьому районі. Наразі силове протистояння відсутнє. Деталі уточнюються.

What do these massive military deployments in and around Ukraine mean?

There's a very dangerous possibility with the Ukraine crisis. Keep in mind that not even a month ago Ukraine was under the executive leadership of Russian puppet Viktor Yanukovich. I believe the Ukrainian military command and control structure, which has not changed much, remains effectively under the control of Moscow regardless of who's now "president" in Kiev. Indeed, should we even trust the new political leaders in Kiev for that matter? Yet, all of the sudden Ukraine's military is perceived to be directed by "Western" forces! This creates a possibility for Moscow to wage a "managed war"....one in which Russia is seemingly battling against "the West" over vital national interests.

Is it possible that Kiev is going to order military action to take Crimea back from Russia? Remarkably, there's little discussion of this possibility in the press. Yet, comments from the "new leadership" in Kiev suggests this could be the plan:

While conceding that his nation can't come close to the military power of Russia, the interim prime minister of Ukraine said Thursday that "we are ready to protect our country" if Russia does not stop its "military aggression" in Crimea.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk told reporters in Brussels, Belgium, that the presence of Russian forces in that autonomous region of his nation "is unacceptable in the 21st century."

In a news conference about the situation in Ukraine, President Obama said Thursday that the world is "well beyond the days when borders can be withdrawn over the heads of democratic leaders."

The Ukrainian military, Yatsenyuk said, has refrained from taking action so far because it does not wish to play into a "scenario designated by Russia." But he added that Ukraine has "the spirit" to defend itself if necessary.

Yatsenyuk spoke just after 9 a.m. ET. His comments followed the news from earlier in the day that lawmakers in Crimea have taken steps toward what they hope would be an eventual split from Ukraine to join the Russian Federation.

Yatsenyuk called the Crimean parliamentarians' action "an illegitimate decision" and said that "Crimea was, is and will be an integral part of Ukraine." [NPR]

If the idea of a 'staged war' seems far-fetched, then I suggest you consider Russia's conflict with Georgia in 2008 which I believe is an example. Note that it was Georgia, not Russia, that struck first in that conflict. (Since, after all, "imperialism is the source of all antagonistic conflicts of the present day world" - see below.)

Why would the Kremlin concoct a Ukraine-Russia conflict?

Moscow's strategic focus has never deviated from the primary objective of total victory over the West IMHO. In this context, how to fight and win a global nuclear war is of the utmost relevance. Examine the quotes below of key Soviet nuclear war-fighting strategists from yesteryear. I think you'll get the idea...

Speaking of the surprise unleashing of a nuclear war, the following should be noted. Recently the command element of the U.S. army, evidently, does not exclude the possibility of opening military operations even in the main theaters with the use of just conventional means of destruction. Such a beginning of war can create favorable conditions for the movement of all nuclear forces to the regions of combat operations, bringing them into the highest level of combat readiness, and subsequently inflicting the first nuclear strike with the employment in it of the maximum number of missile launch sites, submarines and aircraft at the most favorable moment.

One of the advantages the Soviets see of the conventional phase is the possibility that it provides cover to operations to initiate a nuclear attack, preparations that might otherwise be detected and provide warning. What were rumors yesterday are becoming fact today, i.e., there are now credible reports of military alerts and mobilizations in Saudi Arabia and Israel while the Turkish military continues to buildup forces on its border with Syria.  While most believe that Turkey is not going to directly retaliate for last week's downing of a Turkish jet by Syria, actions speak louder than words.  Also note this latest Breaking News tweet concerning the situation:

CBS: Turkey sends heavy weapons to Syria border

(AP) ANKARA, Turkey - Turkey deployed anti-aircraft guns and other weapons alongside its border with Syria, state television reported on Thursday, days after the downing of a Turkish military jet by Syrian forces heightened the tensions between the two countries.

A small convoy of military trucks, towing anti-aircraft guns, entered into a military outpost in the border village of Guvecci, which faces a Syrian military outpost across the border and where Syrian forces and rebels clashed in recent months, TRT television footage showed.

Several anti-aircraft guns have also been deployed elsewhere alongside the border. Some trucks were seen carrying self-propelled multiple rocket launchers, TRT footage showed.

Arutz: Turkey Placing Aircraft on Syrian Frontier

Turkey confirmed reports Wednesday that it is deploying troops, including fighter jets and anti-aircraft guns, along its border with Syria.

“I can confirm there are troops being deployed along the border in Hatay province. Turkey is taking precautions after its jet was shot down,” an official told reporters on condition of anonymity.

The troop deployments come amid rising tensions between Ankara and Damascus following the downing of a Turkish F-4 Phantom jet by Syria over the Mediterranean last week.

PressTV: Saudi military on state of high alert on king's order

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud has ordered the country’s security forces to go on a state of high alert due to what he calls a 'turbulent situation' in the region.

King Abdullah issued the order in a "top secret" letter addressed to the kingdom’s security and intelligence chiefs as well as the ministers of defense and interior.

A copy of the letter, dated June 27, 2012, has been obtained by Press TV.

The decree, calling for preparation against “foreign or terrorist attacks,” warns the Saudi security forces against any negligence in following the order.

JPost: IDF bolstering defenses along Syrian border

The IDF is bolstering defenses along the Syrian border and beefing up its forces due to concern that terrorist groups are planning a cross-border attack in the Golan Heights, commander of Division 36 Brig.-Gen. Tamir Hyman said on Thursday.

Hyman briefed reporters during a tour of borderline military positions throughout the Golan Heights. Division 36 is the IDF formation in command of the Golan and Israel's border with Syria.

"Our assumption is that a terror attack or a war can happen without warning," Hyman said. "We are upgrading our infrastructure and renewing operational commands to prepare accordingly."

Israel's concerns range when it comes to Syria and includes the option that the country's advanced weaponry - like Scud missiles and chemical weapons - will fall into rogue hands as well as the possibility that Global Jihad elements operating in the country will try to attack Israel along the border.

UK Telegraph: Turkey asks Nato about a no-fly zone as Syria makes it clear that it's ready to fight dirty

According to a US  government source privy to the Nato meeting called by Turkey on Tuesday, Ankara has requested that the alliance draw up contingency plans for a no-fly zone to protect Turkish territory in the event of further acts of Syrian aggression. Turkey invoked Article IV of the Nato charter, which calls on the alliance to “consult” together whenever one of them deems that the “territorial integrity, political independence or security” of any member is threatened, after Syrian air defence systems shot down a Turkish F-4 Phantom jet that was conducting a training exercise. The Turks say that the plane dipped briefly into Syrian air space but was targeted and destroyed 13 nautical miles from the Syrian coast, in international air space. A rescue plane dispatched to search for the pilots was also apparently fired upon.

“The Turks purposefully left it vague and didn’t provide many specifics,” the source said. “But they also didn’t give [Nato] members a heads-up before the meeting that they’d be asking for this and everyone was surprised.”

The concern here remains what I've been warning about for more than 20 years, i.e., a future chemical SCUD missile attack on Israel like I foresaw in my February 1991 apocalyptic vision.  Obviously, if a regional war erupts over Syria, the potential for chemical SCUDs being launched against Israel will be considerably high.  Should such an event occur, then know with near certainty that World War Three has begun and a full-scale Russian nuclear attack against the U.S. and Western powers is imminent.

At the end of last week (with the square of Uranus and Pluto) Syria shot down an unarmed Turkish RF-4E reconnaissance jet that had strayed into Syrian air space.

Following an emergency meeting of the NATO council today, the Western military alliance said that the Syrian action was "unacceptable". NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said the alliance condemns the incident "in the strongest terms," and expressed solidarity with Turkey.

Furthermore, Turkey's prime minister said today that the Turkish military will respond to any future violation of its border by Syrian military elements.

"The rules of engagement of the Turkish Armed Forces have changed," Recep Tayyip Erdogan said. "Any military element that approaches the Turkish border from Syria by posing a security risk and danger will be regarded as a threat and treated as a military target." [More...]

ISTANBUL - Turkey has deployed a large number of military vehicles to the Syrian border, daily Milliyet reported.

The shipment included 15 armored tanks, in addition to long-distance guns and other military vehicles. The convoy was heavily guarded as it moved toward the border in the event of an attack by outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) members.

Military units reportedly increased security measures on the border following recent events that have strained bilateral relations.

In a related development in the region, 13 zones near Hakkari, Diyarbakır and Şırnak have been declared temporary militray security zones. Diyarbakır Governor’s Office said yesterday in a written satement that no civilians will be allowed in the mentioned regions between July 6 and Oct. 6 since shooting drills will be exercised in those areas.

War With Iran?

With the Elliott Wave pattern looking ominous with a total lunar eclipse approaching, it looks like war with Iran may be getting closer and may already be underway covertly:

How was Iran able to capture a RQ-170 Sentinel drone? This is an incredible feat that seems way beyond Iran's capacity. Presuming the Islamic Republic had some Russian and/or Chinese assistance, the real issue that comes to mind is....was this a way of further pressuring Israel to strike Iran on its own, i.e., without U.S. support and knowledge? DEBKA offers some insightful analysis on this score:

The state of the lost UAV refutes the US military contention that the Sentinel's systems malfunctioned. If this had happened, it would have crashed and either been wrecked or damaged. The condition of the RQ-170 intact obliges the US and Israel to make major changes in plans for a potential strike against Iran's nuclear program.

The Obama administration's decision after internal debate not to send US commando or air units into Iran to retrieve or destroy the secret RQ-170 stealth drone which fell into Iranian hands has strengthened the hands of the Israeli faction which argues the case for striking Iran's nuclear installations without waiting for the Americans to make their move.

Senior Israeli diplomatic and security officials who followed the discussion in Washington concluded that, by failing to act, the administration has left Iran not only with the secrets of the Sentinel's stealth coating, its sensors and cameras, but also with the data stored in its computer cells on targets marked out by the US and/or Israeli for attack.

Bear in mind my opinion that Iran's nuclear program is really for provoking a fight with Israel more so than actually building the Bomb. After all, if Iran wanted to build a nuke, they could have acquired plenty of highly enriched uranium off the black market to work with. There's been no need for Tehran to pursue its brazenly public uranium enrichment program over the years except for the purpose of provocation.

Why is Iran provoking a fight with Israel? It's the same game Moscow and Beijing are playing. They know they're going to unleash a nuclear third world war that will devastate Western civilization and set the world back a century, but they want to do everything in their power to shape history in a manner such that "the Jews" and America are blamed for the coming cataclysm being planned.

Syria has accused Turkey of arming rebels that have purportedly attacked Syrian military forces:

Syrian officials said a rebel force of up to 500 fighters attacked a Syrian Army position on June 4 in northern Syria. They said the target, a garrison of Military Intelligence, was captured in a 36-hour assault in which 72 soldiers were killed in Jisr Al Shoughour, near the border with Turkey.

"We found that the criminals [rebel fighters] were using weapons from Turkey, and this is very worrisome," an official said.

Meanwhile, Turkey has reportedly put its forces that border Syria on alert:

Turkey has put its armed forces deployed on the border with Syria in a state of alert since Thursday evening, following reports on the arrival of a number of Syrian military defectors from the into the territory of Turkey. A Turkish source familiar with situation said Syrian forces backed by tanks were operating close to the Turkish border. They have launched combing operations just 500 meters from the Turkish border. The operations are believed to be carried out in order to locate Syrians fleeing toward Turkey.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has expressed its concern to the Syrian authorities regarding the approach of Syrian military forces to the Syrian Turkish border, warning of the seriousness of this matter.

There are long-standing tensions between Turkey and Syria that could suddenly explode in war:

As Turkey and Syria face off, informed opinion holds that the Turks will not go beyond "a few surgical strikes." But the Middle East is a supremely volatile region, where conflicts tend to escalate beyond expectations. In 1967, the Six-Day War between Arab nations and Israel seemed to come out of nowhere; historians still puzzle over its origins. The 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan took everyone by surprise, as did the Iraqi invasions of Iran in 1980 and Kuwait in 1990. The Lebanese and Sudanese civil wars started on a dime. It therefore behooves us....to take the flare-up between Turkey and Syria seriously.

The origins of the conflict lie in several Syrian resentments and ambitions toward Turkey. In 1939, on the eve of World War II, the French imperial power in Damascus handed over a province of Syria to the Turks, something still not accepted by Syrians. In fact, daily television broadcasts in Syria of weather maps show Turkey's Hatay Province as part of Syria.

Then there is the ever-sensitive issue of water. Turkey and Syria signed an agreement in 1987 whereby the Syrians were assured a minimum allotment of water from the Euphrates River flowing out of Turkey. Although the Turks have lived up to their side of the bargain, Syrian President Hafez Assad has decided his country deserves more.

Finally, Damascus worries about Turkey's foreign links. In the old days, it was the membership in NATO. Now, flourishing military, commercial and cultural ties between Turkey and Israel perturb the Syrians even more. Such grievances prompted the Assad regime, starting in the mid-1980s, to sponsor a whole range of terrorist groups against Turkey, one of which remains very much in business. Known by its initials PKK, the Kurdistan Workers' Party has killed some 30,000 Turks in the pursuit of a breakaway Kurdish state and represents the number one problem in Turkey today.

In the face of the growing humanitarian crisis on the Turkish-Syrian border caused by the political uprising in Syria, there are signs Turkey may use force to establish a buffer zone inside Syria for refugees:

Government sources told a leading Turkish newspaper that soldiers could be sent in to Syria to set up a "safe haven" under plans being considered should the flood of those fleeing the fighting worsened.

"We would close the border but we cannot turn our back," a Turkish official told the newspaper, Hurriyet. "If chaos starts, then we will have to form a security zone or a buffer zone inside Syrian territory."

The suggestion, which would be a marked escalation of the crisis and seriously alarm Damascus, came as Turkey faced pressure to take tougher action over the crisis in a neighbour until recently seen as an ally.

Now here's the problem. Turkey is a member of NATO whereas Syria is strongly backed by Russia. Should war erupt between Turkey and Syria, then there's the potential for direct conflict between NATO and Russia. I have long thought that Georgia might be used by Moscow to trigger such an East-West confrontation, but now it looks like Syria and Turkey could be the chess pieces in the global game of Real Politik to be exploited.

That Israel could be drawn quickly into the fray of any such East-West conflict seems rather obvious, particularly given that regional players like Iran and Hezbollah would seemingly do everything possible to keep the Bashar Assad regime in power in Syria.

Thus, seemingly out of nowhere the Middle East could ignite a global conflict, something that should not come as a complete surprise given the insights of this blog and the fact that today the DJIA closed below 12K and the NYSE Composite closed below 8K:

Quick Market Update: Crash Alert In Effect

In the wake of the January 4th solar eclipse, stock markets in the U.S. and Europe are topping out around psychologically important thousand marks in key indices equivalent to where the world reversed into the 2008 financial crisis that set off the crisis in confidence still impacting the global economy:

This comes as sentiment is ripe for a major top with investor optimism rivaling the manic levels which prevailed at the peak in 2007:



As can be seen above, according to the Elliott Wave Principle we are still in the midst of Primary Wave 2 up and when the next major turn down occurs this should be into Primary Wave 3 down, what I've dubbed the "Apocalypse Wave":



In this context, note that a Hindenburg Omen signal occurred in mid-December that portends the potential for a stock market crash in this time period:

Confirmed Hindenburg Omens are very rare. There have been only 28 confirmed Hindenburg Omen signals over the past 25 years. December 2010's is the 29th. This is amazing when you consider that during that time span, there were roughly 6,400 trading days. Of those 6,400 trading days where it was possible to generate a confirmed official Hindenburg Omen, only 197 (3.1 percent) generated one, clustering into 28 confirmed potential stock market crash signals.

If we define a crash as a 15% decline, of the previous 28 confirmed Hindenburg Omen signals, eight (28.5 percent ) were followed by financial system threatening, life-as-we-know-it threatening stock market crashes. Three (10.7 percent) more were followed by stock market selling panics (10% to 14.9% declines). Four more (14.3 percent) resulted in sharp declines (8% to 9.9% drops). Six (21.4 percent) were followed by meaningful declines (5% to 7.9%), five (17.8 percent) saw mild declines (2.0% to 4.9%), and two (7.1 percent) were failures, with subsequent declines of 2.0% or less. Put another way, there is a 28 percent probability that a stock market crash -- the big one -- will occur after we get a confirmed (more than one in a cluster) Hindenburg Omen. There is a 39.2 percent probability that at least a panic sell-off will occur. There is a 53.5 percent probability that a sharp decline greater than 8.0 % will occur, and there is a 74.9 percent probability that a stock market decline of at least 5 percent will occur. Only one out of roughly 14 times will this signal fail.

Meanwhile, we are now entering a Puetz crash window in the wake of the January 4th solar eclipse in association with the January 19th full moon:

Several years back, a cycle watcher named Steve Puetz attempted to see if eclipses and market crashes were somehow related. He studied eight of the greatest crashes in financial history, from the Holland Tulip Mania of 1637 to the Nikkei of 1990. He found that market crashes tend to occur near full moons, and that the greatest number of crashes start after the first full moon after a solar eclipse, when that full moon is also a lunar eclipse. Puetz found that all eight crashes occurred six days before to three days after a full moon that occurred within six weeks of a solar eclipse. The odds of that being a coincidence, Puetz calculated, are less than 1 in 127,000.

Puetz was not saying that so-called "Puetz windows" always lead to crashes, but that if a crash is going to occur, a Puetz window would be the likely time frame in which it would happen. Puetz windows tend to occur every year or two, while crashes are rare events. (SOURCE)

He....concludes that a full moon in general and a lunar (eclipse) full moon close to solar eclipses, in particular, seem to be the triggering device that allows for the rapid transformation of investor psychology from manic greed to paranoia (SOURCE).

Since I'm a broken record on most of these indicators and will ever be deemed a boy who cried wolf one too many times, I will simply post this updated information with the reassertion that there's the potential for the Elliott Wave Grand Supercycle crash and global war I've so long been warning this world about to no avail. The fate is what we make by not recognizing and counteracting the underlying insanity of unrepentant selfishness and sin ("sin" particularly in the sense of an attitude of dismissal or rebellion toward God). As long as people give in to their carnal, self-important nature, history will continue to unfold according to bipolar cycles between misled extremes of hope and despair. The truth is we are not on our own, so stop fretting either way!
