Dow 14000 & World War Three?

Today the DJIA closed above the psychologically important 14000 mark for the first time in five years, i.e., since the 2008 financial crisis hit:

We may be in a comparable situation to when the DJIA tested the 1000 mark just before the last major Arab-Israeli War in 1973 and when the Dow brushed up against the 3000 mark right before Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990:

I believe the logic I spelled out regarding "Dow 13000 and World War Three?" applies here all the same (minus seasonality):



In fact, what has formed is a rather ominous "diagonal triangle" that typically marks the end of a major upswing pattern in mass mood:

What's telling is that this Elliott Wave pattern has unfolded into the upper channel line of the rise in stock prices dating back to the Great Depression:

In a prophetic, religious context, think of this as representing the peak of Capitalism and Western Civilization, and the associated mass servitude, worship and "love" (valuation) of Mammon (wealth; greed). Indeed, this is well represented by America's modern-day "Golden Calf", the bronze Charging Bull statue by Wall Street:

[As to why Wall Street's mood swings in Elliott Wave fractal patterns and why seeming exogenous geopolitical shocks are connected to reversals from thousand mark psychological barriers in the DJIA, this is because history unfolds in a fractal pattern which implies that what we are collectively experiencing is holographic in nature. What will happen in the wake of this peak?

According to the Elliott Wave Principle, a collapse of Grand Supercycle magnitude lies dead ahead that should involve a 99%+ drop in stock prices:

This is what I've dubbed the "Apocalypse Wave", and I believe it projects the fall of America and end of Capitalism..

Thus, I do not believe it is mere coincidence that just as we are topping around Dow 14K, there's news of an Israeli air-strike against Syria that might provoke a military response by Syria and/or Iran and/or Iran's proxy force of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon:

The presumed Israeli airstrike within Syrian territory on Wednesday has elicited threats of retaliation from both Syria and Iran. Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul-Karim Ali, quoted at al-Ahd, a Hezbollah-run news website, contended that his nation could make “a surprise decision to respond to the aggression of the Israeli warplanes,” adding that ”Syria is engaged in defending its sovereignty and its land.” In Iran, a deputy foreign minister was quoted by English-language Press TV as saying the “strike on Syria will have serious consequences for Tel Aviv.” He did not elaborate. Is my apocalyptic vision, which begins with a chemical SCUD missile attack on Israel, about to unfold?

Why did Israel just deploy a Patriot missile battery atop Mount Carmel?!

As examined in my previous blog, we are currently in a seasonal period I deem to be extremely dangerous for mankind. It was during this time, going into the new moon that marks the end of the month of Tishrei on the lunar-based Hebrew calendar, that the 1929 and 1987 stock market crashes occurred as well as when the closest approaches to nuclear world war took place during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis and 1973 Yom Kippur Arab-Israeli War. This seasonal pattern is a notable corroboration of my primary thesis that man as a species suffers from a "Global Bipolar Disorder" such that there are ongoing extreme swings in mass mood between social manias and collective depressions which shape human history.

In this context, I remain very alert to news during this period that suggests any possibility of the "apocalyptic vision" I had in February 1991 which began with a chemical SCUD missile attack on Haifa, Israel. This morning I came across a news story that specifically indicates such a possibility:

Patriot Anti-Missile Battery Deployed Near Haifa on Mt. Carmel

A Patriot anti-missile battery has been installed in the north, atop Mt. Carmel near Haifa. However, according to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, deployment of a Patriot battery “is not an unusual thing.”

The system, operated by the IDF Air Defense Command, is capable of intercepting flying objects (balllistic missiles, aircraft and other threats) at ranges between 60 to 160 kilometers ( 37 to 99 miles). The Patriot system was used during the Gulf War to intercept missiles fired at Israel from Iraq.

Installation of the battery in the north came after the IDF shot down a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) that flew nearly the entire length of the country, albeit most of the way via the Mediterranean.

The small drone was shot down Saturday morning over an uninhabited area in the northern Negev Desert. Two Israeli F-16 fighter jets “escorted” the aircraft on its journey down the coast before destroying the aircraft.

It is widely assumed that the drone was transmitting photographs, and if it had continued on its easterly course from Gaza, it would have flown near, or directly over the Dimona nuclear reactor. Israeli officials have been concerned for some time that the facility could be vulnerable to an attack from Iran.

According to a report on the Beirut-based pan-Arab television station Al-Mayadeen, with links to the Hizbullah terrorist organization, Hizbullah was responsible for the drone's flagrant violation of Israeli air space. In a brief statement, the station said the drone managed “to penetrate 100 kilometers and raise tension in Israel.” However, Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah has not made an official comment on the incident.

The obvious question is this: What would lead Israeli Defense Forces to deploy a Patriot anti-missile battery atop Mount Carmel at this time unless there's anticipation of a missile attack on Haifa? Is Israel planning retaliation against Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon for the drone flown over the Jewish state Saturday? If so, will this provoke a military response from Hezbollah including a missile barrage against Israel including the northern city of Haifa? Will those missiles contain chemical weapons as I foresaw 20 years ago?

I certainly hope and pray not, but this is the period I've long considered most likely for the world to share my apocalyptic vision. God I hope I'm deluded...

Secretary of Defense Robert Gates recently claimed that Hezbollah possessed chemical and biological weapons. The news comes as the IDF contends the terror organization has now amassed more than 50,000 missiles and rockets, heightening Israel’s concerns over its vulnerability to a Hezbollah assault.

The assertion by Gates followed reports in April 2011 that Libyan rebels had ransacked chemical weapons storage depots in and around the Libyan city of Benghazi. There they obtained at least 2,000 artillery shells carrying mustard gas and 1,200 nerve gas shells, which they sold to both Hezbollah and Hamas.

Bear in mind my apocalyptic vision began with seeing a special report of a chemical missile attack on Israel.

Syria has accused Turkey of arming rebels that have purportedly attacked Syrian military forces:

Syrian officials said a rebel force of up to 500 fighters attacked a Syrian Army position on June 4 in northern Syria. They said the target, a garrison of Military Intelligence, was captured in a 36-hour assault in which 72 soldiers were killed in Jisr Al Shoughour, near the border with Turkey.

"We found that the criminals [rebel fighters] were using weapons from Turkey, and this is very worrisome," an official said.

Meanwhile, Turkey has reportedly put its forces that border Syria on alert:

Turkey has put its armed forces deployed on the border with Syria in a state of alert since Thursday evening, following reports on the arrival of a number of Syrian military defectors from the into the territory of Turkey. A Turkish source familiar with situation said Syrian forces backed by tanks were operating close to the Turkish border. They have launched combing operations just 500 meters from the Turkish border. The operations are believed to be carried out in order to locate Syrians fleeing toward Turkey.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has expressed its concern to the Syrian authorities regarding the approach of Syrian military forces to the Syrian Turkish border, warning of the seriousness of this matter.

There are long-standing tensions between Turkey and Syria that could suddenly explode in war:

As Turkey and Syria face off, informed opinion holds that the Turks will not go beyond "a few surgical strikes." But the Middle East is a supremely volatile region, where conflicts tend to escalate beyond expectations. In 1967, the Six-Day War between Arab nations and Israel seemed to come out of nowhere; historians still puzzle over its origins. The 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan took everyone by surprise, as did the Iraqi invasions of Iran in 1980 and Kuwait in 1990. The Lebanese and Sudanese civil wars started on a dime. It therefore behooves us....to take the flare-up between Turkey and Syria seriously.

The origins of the conflict lie in several Syrian resentments and ambitions toward Turkey. In 1939, on the eve of World War II, the French imperial power in Damascus handed over a province of Syria to the Turks, something still not accepted by Syrians. In fact, daily television broadcasts in Syria of weather maps show Turkey's Hatay Province as part of Syria.

Then there is the ever-sensitive issue of water. Turkey and Syria signed an agreement in 1987 whereby the Syrians were assured a minimum allotment of water from the Euphrates River flowing out of Turkey. Although the Turks have lived up to their side of the bargain, Syrian President Hafez Assad has decided his country deserves more.

Finally, Damascus worries about Turkey's foreign links. In the old days, it was the membership in NATO. Now, flourishing military, commercial and cultural ties between Turkey and Israel perturb the Syrians even more. Such grievances prompted the Assad regime, starting in the mid-1980s, to sponsor a whole range of terrorist groups against Turkey, one of which remains very much in business. Known by its initials PKK, the Kurdistan Workers' Party has killed some 30,000 Turks in the pursuit of a breakaway Kurdish state and represents the number one problem in Turkey today.

In the face of the growing humanitarian crisis on the Turkish-Syrian border caused by the political uprising in Syria, there are signs Turkey may use force to establish a buffer zone inside Syria for refugees:

Government sources told a leading Turkish newspaper that soldiers could be sent in to Syria to set up a "safe haven" under plans being considered should the flood of those fleeing the fighting worsened.

"We would close the border but we cannot turn our back," a Turkish official told the newspaper, Hurriyet. "If chaos starts, then we will have to form a security zone or a buffer zone inside Syrian territory."

The suggestion, which would be a marked escalation of the crisis and seriously alarm Damascus, came as Turkey faced pressure to take tougher action over the crisis in a neighbour until recently seen as an ally.

Now here's the problem. Turkey is a member of NATO whereas Syria is strongly backed by Russia. Should war erupt between Turkey and Syria, then there's the potential for direct conflict between NATO and Russia. I have long thought that Georgia might be used by Moscow to trigger such an East-West confrontation, but now it looks like Syria and Turkey could be the chess pieces in the global game of Real Politik to be exploited.

That Israel could be drawn quickly into the fray of any such East-West conflict seems rather obvious, particularly given that regional players like Iran and Hezbollah would seemingly do everything possible to keep the Bashar Assad regime in power in Syria.

Thus, seemingly out of nowhere the Middle East could ignite a global conflict, something that should not come as a complete surprise given the insights of this blog and the fact that today the DJIA closed below 12K and the NYSE Composite closed below 8K:

Man Is Completely Insane & Collective Suicide May Be Near

It never mattered what I said or what I wrote, there was no way I could ever divert man as a species from its utterly insane, suicidal course.

Twenty years ago today the 1991 Gulf War began with a massive U.S. aerial bombardment on Iraq began to evict Saddam Hussein's occupying forces from Kuwait. The whole affair was a nonsensical lie of some sort to strategically mislead the West regarding the feigned collapse of power in the Communist East:

The West - selfish, arrogant and deluded beyond all reason - will be utterly surprised by its undoing from the calculated designs of the East, but what else can one expect when the world has gone completely insane?

I tried to stop the madness, but all I've met is dismissal, mockery and persecution. In all these years no one has been willing to lift a finger to help me to save ourselves, so the fate is what man makes and there's been nothing I could do to change the tragic story unfolding around me. It's all just ridiculous, pathetic and futile. (Of course, self-described Christians will maintain there's 'hope in Christ', but I simply don't see it as long as they are likewise deluded into inaction.)

Are we predictably irrational animals that self-destruct?

ALERT: STL prosecutor completes Hariri murder probe

While the focus has been on Korea as this East-West flash point is now on a hair-trigger, in the background a potential igniter of a major Middle East conflagration has been coming to a head.

Word is out that the prosecutor in the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) has completed his probe into the assassination of Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri with a car bomb in 2005. This suggests indictments may soon be released by the tribunal's judge, although they may be sealed and not acted upon for weeks:

Knowledgeable sources told London-based Arabic-language al-Sharq al-Awsat on Monday that Canadian prosecutor Daniel A. Bellemare, head of the international tribunal into the Hariri murder, "has reached findings which will allow him to file indictment based on strong and clear evidence which will be hard – if not impossible - to undermine in a court of law."

According to one of the sources, "Bellemare is familiar with all the issues and data related to the Hariri assassination and other assassinations which followed, and is more satisfied than ever with the firm results he has reached."

As for the timing of the indictments, the sources reported that "no one knows when the indictments will be filed, apart from one person – Judge Daniel Bellemare. The only thing that can be said is that the prosecutor has completed the investigation stage, which lasted almost six years." [Ynet]

According to former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton, Syria and Hezbollah will be targeted in the upcoming indictments and a new Israel-Lebanon War might follow:

In an article published in the Al-Hayat newspaper on Monday in which he criticized president Barack Obama, former U.S. Ambassador to the UN John Bolton speculated that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) Prosecutor (Daniel Bellemare) will soon release the indictments in the investigation into the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and said “It is almost certain that high ranking Syrian and Hezbollah officials will be accused of the crime.”

Bolton also predicted that the indictment could lead to another war between Hezbollah and Israel and that Syria may join the war this time.

The reason a conflict might erupt between Israel and Lebanon over the indictments is that Hezbollah has vowed to thwart any attempts by Lebanon Prime Minister Hariri, the son of the slain leader, to arrest and prosecute any Hezbollah leaders fingered by the STL.

In the event Hezbollah makes a move to takeover Lebanon, Israel is not likely to sit idly by in which case a new Israel-Lebanon war will be set off and this time Syria is likely to get involved. Any such conflict is apt to be much worse than the one in 2006 given the massive rearmament of Hezbollah by Syria and Iran including SCUD missiles and possibly chemical weapons.

As has been repeatedly highlighted in my writings, I had an 'apocalyptic vision' in February of 1991 that started with seeing a special report of a chemical SCUD missile attack on Israel. Given that mass mood and stock prices may be peaking out above the 4000 mark on the Dow Jones Composite index in the wake of the total lunar eclipse last week, there is the potential that we are about to reverse into the Elliott Wave "Apocalypse Wave" in the near-future, and thus the prospect of any sort of international crisis that could lead to a chemical SCUD missile attack on Israel should be of the utmost concern and attention.

Why God provided this foresight to me thus undermining my life for the past 20 years to seemingly no avail is beyond me. The missiles are going to fly and that will be that as far as I can tell. The odds of the people of this world waking up to reality and counteracting the Evil fashioning the demise of Good appears so remote as to be farcical, but alas our Creator must have a grand plan.

I've long contended that Russia is using Iran to trigger World War Three. Iran's nuclear program, which has been developed with Moscow's assistance even though the Russians should seemingly fear Islamic extremists having the bomb as much as the West, seems more geared to provoke a fight with Israel than to actually complete a nuclear weapon. Furthermore, the seemingly insane, virulently anti-semitic Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was placed in power through sham elections in 2005 and again in 2009 to further stoke tensions with Israel.

However, to-date Israel has not taken the bait and triggered the all-out East-West war Russia has long been planning.

While we are past what I deemed to be seasonally the most dangerous point in 2010 for the Grand Supercycle crash and associated global war as I've been warning about for so long, it is still the often "black" month of October. What's more, with contentious congressional elections in November, the U.S. government is distracted and we are strategically vulnerable if Russia is planning its surprise attack this year.

Given that mass mood may be reaching an utterly irrational extreme with the DJIA trading above the psychologically important 11,000 mark, one should remain alert. On this score, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's current visit to Lebanon bears watching:

There was a serious border clash between Israel and Lebanon today that could eventually escalate into a regional conflict and, as I've been long warning, a nuclear third world war.

The timing of this incident, in the wake of the "Cardinal Climax", is somewhat alarming, particularly given the case I've been making regarding "Kremlin Astrology" and the onset of the "Apocalypse Wave".

As for the specifics of the incident, it has the appearance of a staged provocation on the part of the Arab states, possibly to create a pretext for a full-scale Arab/Israeli war that nowadays will actually be an Arab-Persian/Israeli war given Iran's role in the setup.

What apparently occurred is that Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) went to cut a tree branch overhanging the tense border in an operation approved by UNIFIL, the U.N. force authorized to monitor the ceasefire from the 2006 Israeli-Lebanon conflict.

There were conflicting accounts of what sparked Tuesday’s gunfire.

"It started when the Israelis wanted to cut a tree down inside Lebanon, the Lebanese army fired warning shots at them and they responded by shelling," a security source told Reuters.

However, as suggested by the image below, the Lebanese army "warning shots" appear to have been a direct attack, something that corroborates Israel's claim that IDF forces were ambushed:

Speaking at a press briefing, Major General Gadi Eisenkot said Israeli troops encountered a "planned ambush" by Lebanese forces.

"It was a planned ambush by a sniper unit…this was a provocation by the Lebanese army," he said.

That this border incident was staged seems further confirmed by the rapid, potentially inflammatory statements issued by high-level Lebanese, Syrian and Egyptian authorities:

“After consultations, the (Lebanon's higher defence) council has ... given instructions to face all aggressions on our territory, army and people by all available means, no matter the sacrifices,” said General Said Eid, the head of the council.

President Bashar al-Assad telephoned Lebanese president Michel Sleiman on Tuesday and expressed Syria's support for Lebanon against the brazen aggression launched by Israel.

Assad believes that this aggression proves once more that Israel has always sought to destabilise security and stability in Lebanon and the region.

Major General Paul E. Vallely (Ret.) revealed sobering information regarding possible chemical and nuclear weapon activity by Iran and Hezbollah in an exclusive PJTV video. According to the retired Major General and sitting chairman of Save Our Democracy, Iran is planning a preemptive attack against Israel though its military proxy Hezbollah. A submarine in Beirut unloaded suspicious cargo that signaled the potential presence of chemical weapons. This news comes on the heels of Israel distributing gas masks to its 7.5 million citizens.

“Just in the last week, we have very definitive and confirmed information that Iran is planning a preemptive attack against Israel,” said Major General Vallely during the PJTV interview. ”The other event we just uncovered news on… is that a submarine docked in Beirut a little over a week ago. Soviet submarine with an Iranian flag.... Off-loaders had gas masks on and hazmat gear, indicating, to me, that some sort of chemical weapons were being offloaded from the submarine to the control of Hezbollah…. That’s why I call the summer of 2010 the tipping point for the Middle East.”

Again, remember that the apocalyptic vision I experienced in 1991 first involved seeing a special report of a chemical SCUD missile attack on Israel.

Of course, one question I have is why did Iran seemingly deliver chemical weapons to a Beirut port via a submarine with people dressed in HAZMAT suits wearing gas masks unloading the sensitive cargo. Obviously, this was geared to garner the attention of Israeli intelligence. I think I've already tapped on to why this would be.

As I have noted time and time again over the years, there's a tendency for historical shocks to erupt upon reversing from psychologically important thousand marks in the DJIA. At this juncture, mass mood, which has become insanely euphoric, may be reaching the peak of Elliott Wave Primary Wave two prior to what I've been warning will be the "Apocalypse Wave". An Apocalypse (Greek: Ἀποκάλυψις Apokálypsis; "lifting of the veil" or "revelation") is a disclosure of something hidden from the majority of mankind in an era dominated by falsehood and misconception, i.e. the veil to be lifted. In a rather common-sensical way the term is associated with an eschatological final battle, the Armageddon, and the idea of an end of the world due to out of time. In this context, there's rather alarming news out of the Middle East that Syria may have delivered SCUD missiles to Hezbollah in Lebanon. For those who have bothered paying attention to my warnings over the years, in my apocalyptic vision of a future third world war, the first "hallucination" I had was of a special report of a chemical SCUD missile attack on Israel.

So guess what the stage is set for?

One might do well to question the judgment of governing "authorities" in a self-destructive society.

Unfortunately, it looks like HIStory will be the ultimate judge, and, in this regard, WHO REALLY GOT WHAT I MEANT?

Yet, when it comes to his church hierarchy murdering the meaning of God's love for tens of thousands of innocent children, he can't manage to apologize, repent and seek to right the wrongs committed like every Catholic is called upon to do for their slightest transgressions! An eight-year-old learns Christ's meaning better in their first year of Sunday school!!!

"The Truth" might now seem crazy, but who has made it that way?

Rather odd time for a sudden 11-day Debka.com "vacation".

For those unfamiliar with Debka.com, the Israeli-based news/intelligence site regularly posts highly alarmist articles regarding Israel.

Interestingly, when you click on the link for the article highlighted on the homepage:

Also, it's not a major Jewish holiday, so why did Debka.com go on an 11-day vacation now?

This may have been a "forced vacation" because Debka.com finally got one of its alarmist reports right.

A poster at GodLikeProductions.com claims to have the inside scoop:

I believe today is the 19th anniversary of hearing an air-raid siren and nuclear explosion upon reading aloud the words of the 8th chapter of the Book of Revelation to my friend....although I would think the timing of the "apocalyptic vision" was irrelevant.

The hard truth...

I know I'm supposed to make believe no one can comprehend what I've been trying to point out for the last 19 years, but time grows short and quite frankly I'm tired of this nonsense. If man wants to remain unreasonable and commit suicide, this is his perogative, it's just incredibly foolish and tragic.

The DJIA reversed below 10,000 today. This means, as overviewed in my thesis, that the probability of a historical shock, e.g., an outbreak of war, in the near-future is high.



Meanwhile, in its short-term update, Elliott Wave International projects that one of the first sharp downlegs of Primary Wave three, what I've referred to as the Apocalypse wave, in the Grand Supercycle bear market is imminent:



This comes as war jitters are reaching a feverish pitch in the Middle East.

While the vast majority of Westerners are busy entertaining themselves to death, at least at the Tree Of Liberty forum there's some sense of reality as a thread is underway dubbed "is WW3 soon to be?". But even there one finds a general denial of how World War Three is going to directly involve the U.S. Furthermore, there seems to be confusion on how this is connected to End Times prophecy.

For anyone that frequents this blog, which is virtually no one, what is historically unfolding should be clear as day. Yet, all that prevails is strong popular delusions.

Now why would that be?

This world, full of selfishness and sin, is killing itself....and it's completely unnecessary. I tried to tell the truth to man 2000 years ago and was crucified for my blasphemy. I presume this pattern will repeat when the missiles fly and reality can no longer be ignored.

The hard truth is that man as a species is dangerously insane and a danger to himself and the world he inhabits.

I believe it's true that there is "no fate but what we make", so why are we doing this to ourselves?

Stop it!

The "final cause" is God's Kingdom on earth, not Satan's, and, if we all put our minds to it, this is what can be achieved thus fulfilling the intent of our Creator....but it remains our choice: heaven or hell on earth. It's a simple matter of God's loving intent which can never be outsmarted IMHO.

Report: North Korea is "mobilizing its citizens"

Per "Open Doors USA", a Christian missionary organization operating underground in North Korea:

I cannot share all the details here, but the report from the field states that the North Korean government recently declared “100 Days of Combat.” This means everyone must work for the state during this time of “mobilization.” If someone is on the street without a valid reason, they are arrested and sent to a labor camp. This report comes after three days of North Korea lobbing artillery shells toward a disputed South Korean island in the Yellow Sea.



There's also news of a potential conflict brewing in the Middle East between Israel and Hezbollah/Syria/Lebanon.

Furthermore, Venezuela is provoking Columbia.

Mass emotion has clearly turned down into Primary Wave 3 of the Grand Supercycle collapse. Given my "Global Bipolar Disorder" hypothesis, it would not come as a surprise if a full-scale East/West conflict (which involves the struggle between Communism and Capitalism) erupts in the near-future.

An American source told Kuwaiti newspaper al-Rai that according to intelligence reports, Syria allowed Hezbollah members to train on its territory using anti-aircraft SA-2 missiles.

The American source noted that Israel had warned Syria not to equip Hezbollah with such missiles. He estimated that if Damascus chose to do so, this would lead to a war between Israel and Hezbollah and Israel may also bomb targets in the Syrian capital. (Ynet)

Notably, in my 'apocalyptic vision' the chemical missile attack on Israel was specifically of a chemical SCUD missile attack on Haifa, Israel. At the time I saw this mysterious special report, during the 1991 Gulf War to remove Saddam's Iraq from occupying Kuwait, I was perplexed as to why my premonition of a future chemical SCUD missile attack on Israel was of Haifa being struck instead of Tel Aviv, where most of the reports of Iraqi SCUD missile strikes were emanating from at that time.

In the wake of the 1991 conflict, it started to dawn upon me that possibly what I foresaw was a Syrian SCUD attack on Israel since Syria lies to Israel's north and, in the event of a Syrian missile strike, Haifa would be the first Israeli city to report being hit given the regional geography and distance to targets. Now with Saddam Hussein out of the picture, the only possible source of a chemical SCUD missile attack on Haifa is Syria (unless Hezbollah is now equipped with SCUD-type missiles and chemical warheads). This is what the rest of the world might soon witness as the prophetic Apocalypse begins.
